Good Luck Beerhouse has also given everyone a compelling reason to day drink on Sunday: you get two piece of dim sum free with every beer purchased. That’s right, get a lil free snack with every pint? Oh now you’re speaking my love language. After careful deliberation and half a pint of beer, I decided on the classic har gow. These steamed prawn dumplings were more than decent, with a passably thin dumpling skin carrying the plump & snappy shrimp within. It’s a bit bland by default, so dip these prawn parcels into the chili sauce on the side and wash it down with a refreshing beer.

The last type of cuisine that anyone would expect a craft beer pub to serve is dim sum, but that’s exactly what @goodluckbeerhouse is serving up with a cold frothy pint. Sure, they probably buy their dim sum off a supplier, considering that they’re in the beer business and not the dim sum business. However, the guy/gal in charge of sourcing their dim sum has decently good taste, as the Glutinous Leaf Rice ($5++) impressed me.⠀

Better known as a lotus leaf glutinous rice, this is a pretty big boi, so the five bucks doesn’t quite hurt as much. The rice has an intensely chewy & sticky texture reminiscent of mochi, and the treasures buried within are downright delicious. The tasty minced chicken in a sauce blessed the entire slab of rice with its savoury qualities, while the Chinese mushroom within added an enjoyable bouncy texture and a good deal of earthy flavours to the glutinous rice.

Craft beer from That Singapore Beer Project.
This might just be the East Coast plan we are promised — a good pint of light-bodied beer with slight fruity notes. Not going to lie but personally found this on the slightly expensive side, especially when a corona would satiate my beer cravings any day.

Couldn’t really taste the osmanthus but it’s guaranteed a very creamy yet sour cocktail!

Heard that Good Luck Beer House now serves noodle. Mr. W used this excuse to tempt me here for lunch after work. Then they only serve noodle after 2pm. So we ordered them sim dum platter and xo carrot cake.

There was a bit of a cultural shock here on xo carrot cake. The one i expected was carrot cake fried in XO sauce which is a very common snacks in chinese restaurants in HK. Crystal Jade here has it too. This one was like a fritter. Tasted good but very different.

The dim sum platter was not bad. Nice for a light lunch.

So much for light lunch, we ended up takeaway some of the dim sum.

The star of this big bowl of noods is their house XO sauce that's sweet and robust - if you love the flavours of dried shrimp, this bowl is perfect for you! The handmade noodles may look like udon but the texture is closer to ban mian - QQ texture and quite unique!

These were well-seasoned crispy goodness - the chicken meat was tender on the inside. While the batter was crispy, the shrimp paste wasn't crazy intense so it's defo enjoyable for all!

Great place with good selection of craft beers. This xo carrot cake was delicious! A nice twist to the usual carrot cake.

The pioneering taproom that pairs craft beers with dim sum has just expanded their menu to include local comfort fare such as Char Kway Teow, Har Cheong Kai and X.O. Carrot Cake (Chye Tao Kway-white). .
.
On good authority, this Tiger Prawn Hokkien Mee pairs amazingly well with @brewlander TFP-021 (Lime Pale Ale), @ryepint X @fourpure Blue Belly (Sour Ale) and @heartofdarknessbrewery X @thegeneralbrewingco Some Centuries SMASH IPA. But don’t take my word for it, try it with a different beer and have an awesome time on Singapore’s narrowest lane and current hipster enclave.

Come 22 Jun, @goodluckbeerhouse will be launching Unicorn Burps, a Pink Dragon Fruit Pilsner, because we want to empower everyone to free choice; to choose who they want to love; to choose what they want to drink. A proportion of proceeds for Unicorn Burps will go to charity and a worthy cause. 22 Jun from 5pm onwards; exercise your freedom to choose.

Today, @brewlander is re-introducing Grace at @goodluckbeerhouse . That Lychee nose, notes of tea tannins with a nice round finish. For those of us who loved the first iteration, you’ll love version 2. One of the most awesome ways to start the weekend.

24 Apr, 8pm, come meet the brewers, Daryl and Rachel Ng, the peeps behind @darylsurbanales EVERDANK DIPA. Imbibe yourself with one of the most awesome SG DIPA while asking “do beards matter”. 😂

Insatiable and irresistibly delicious that my friends and I had to order seconds! Been on a no carb diet, but will definitely break it for this bowl of awesomeness!

Grooving into the #fujifilmxh1 at the beerhouse. Loving that body stabilisation producing that crisper shot of those lovely tap handles. This is addictive.

@brewlander TFP-004 “Beware the Seagulls” Best Bitter in cask-condition is as British as it gets. Seasonal and limited, its 2nd run starts now at @goodluckbeerhouse . Get it before it runs out...for good.

Last keg in the world (absolute last); yes, KEG. The aromas alone will complete you. So if you didn’t get a taste of it at the last beer festival, this is it. Only at @goodluckbeerhouse while pints last.

Nothing quite like wolfing down a couple of char siew bao and siew mais and then allow this moderately bitter IPA to interact with the taste buds thereafter. Who needs tea when you have this! Last keg in the country I heard.

@heroesbeerco AP-09 One Star Scotch Ale is a delicious, buttery ale for all season; my favorite in their beer range. The hero for this beer? He is from one of my favorite taproom in HK (HK Island)

Don’t get left out! (1) Unconditional Love (West Coast IPA)
(2) Orange Sunshine (Citrus Wheat)
(3) Dirty Boots (American Pale Ale)
(4) Golden Brown (Imperial Brown Ale)
(5) Mon P'tit Chu (Farmhouse Ale)

The lingering long finish of this wonderful brew is addictive and like a drug, you are tempted to keep coming back for more. Exclusive to @goodluckbeerhouse taste this #singapore cracker with a couple of epok-epok from the Neighbourhood Sarabat stall, I insist. 🙌
