Had the executive lunch set. Quiche was yummy with their buttery crust. Paired with a strong long black.

Matcha flavour is mild in Baker & Cook’s matcha latte. Okay for a quick fix, but there’re other places nearby that serve up better matcha lattes. Did like the small brownie cube provided to go along with their beverages, which was chocolatey and soft.

My strongest impression of this cuppa is the extremely thick and creamy foam layer. It’s also dusted with cocoa powder - yums! The coffee taste is quite strong in this one and it felt like the milk-coffee ratio was skewed. Overall still not bad!

Chocolate Lamington was like a crumbly chocolate cake coated with dessicated coconut. While it was soft, the cake was on the dry side. We did appreciate that the chocolate flavour was prominent and that the lamington was not just chocolate-coloured.

The chocolate almond croissant was served slightly warm which melts the chocolate filling and really helps increase enjoyment of this pastry. The croissant texture here can’t hold a candle to the airy, crisp, flaky likes of Mother Dough or OMC, but I appreciated the generous amounts of molten chocolate filling and almond slices. Even though there’s no marzipan filling, I’d choose this chocolate croissant over Mother Dough’s anytime due to the amount of chocolate inside. However, OMC’s is a clear winner in this category. Still nice to pick up if you’re craving a quick bite as Baker & Cook is conveniently located in Bugis Junction!

Blueberry Bagel with Smoked Salmon & Cream Cheese on the side ($8) and the Bread Basket ($10) which came with butter + jam. Think I should have gone for a savory bagel to pair with the smoked salmon instead hahahaha.
Place is really small tho, maybe a 20 seater? There’s a large communal table in the middle for shared seating.

Here for brek early on a rainy morning, & decided on a donut feast to lift the gloom! Got raspberry jam ($4.30), custard ($4.30) & chocolate truffle ($5.90). The choc was my favorite as it wasn’t as sweet as the rest, but I loved the crunch of the sugar granules on the other two. Got a Piccolo ($4 + $1 for soy), which came with 2 delish lil brownie bites.
