Was pretty excited to have my sandwich here but sadly it was rather disappointing. The flavours were nice but the ebi katsu was SO tiny it barely filled up half the sandwich. One serving is only half the sandwich - whatever you see in this picture. The chips were also a bit soggy.

Chanced upon this hidden Japanese style cafe at Takashimaya .

I was intrigued with this blackened cheese cake and gave it a try - afterall the Japanese are best at quality control for food so although it looked less interesting , i was excited to try .

The cheese cake Tasted like how it looked . Dry and uninteresting.

What a waste because this cafe was done up in a cosy manner 😖 I thought it would be a new hideout for me .

The basket for teriyaki chicken sandwich was empty but the chef said he could make it for me on the spot. So I waited 10mins.

I have a hate hate relationship with alfalfa sprouts so I was dismayed to open the packaging to find a mound of it kiapped inside. Sprouts aside, this was not as good as the tonkatsu sandwich. The chicken was thigh meat. 👍🏻 Teriyaki sauce was very average.

They actually sell an assortment of different sandwiches. Saw an ebi sandwich that I wanna try next time.

This cafe was incredibly hard to find. It was actually outside the Ngee Ann City building. Gotta walk past the lift lobby to access it. Very quiet on a weekday afternoon.

I bought the double decker tonkatsu sandwich as a takeaway. They made it hot for me. Very good service. Bread used was on the tough side, not that it was a bad thing. I actually enjoy chewy bread more than soft bread. As a snack, it was filling and quite cheap. Pork was decent, not too fatty. Despite the fact that reheated fried pork did not taste as good as freshly prepared, I still enjoyed it.

the sandwich would’ve tasted so much better if it was made fresh. idk if it’s their standard procedure but our sandwich was taken from the display chiller infront of the cashier and reheated. when we asked if they could make it fresh the lady told said “can be done if you choose the one that we don’t have in the display chiller”. if it’s takeout i understand but for seat in customers it should be made fresh. they took quite awhile to reheated the sandwich but it was still cold on the inside. and we were served 2 pieces of lotus chips. 🙄

2 thick slabs of yummy but sinful tonkatsu chicken sandwiched between 2 pieces of well buttered and thick but soft white bread. The steaming hot juice from the chicken just squirts out when you bite down the excessive thick tonkatsu sandwich, delivering you from the boring looking cafe to instant chicken heaven. YUMZ. The chips by the side is also nice to snack on, but it can hardly steal the show from the main lead beside it.

Get the half double decker tonkatsu if you are feeling just mildly hungry. Go for the whole version if you are famished and would like some challenge to finish it. 😋
