[B3] Prawn & Char Siew ($5.80 nett)
There are a total of 3 prawns & a lot more char siew hidden under the skin. Prawns had a great crunch to them, & charsiew was delicious. Would order this again!

Hope to try the special skins next time as that is something really unique.

In general, the cheung fun I had were alright. Would've liked a little bit more sauce, although these weren't dry by any means. Silky smooth skin was the best part.

The chilli is somewhat lacking - pales in comparison to my personal favourite cheung fun. Perhaps good for those who don't enjoy spicy food.

[A2] Egg & Veggie ($4.90 nett)
The veggie is a little odd to me from the contrasting texture perspective. Not sure how I feel about it. Personal preference, I reckon. Loved the egg though.

Unfortunately, Grandpa Cheung Fun didn't have the pink dragonfruit skin or green veggie skin (+$0.20nett each) that I wanted to try... So I just got the regular cheung fun.

Overall, I enjoyed what I had I would return to patronize this stall again!

Dragonfruit chee cheong fun served fresh, hot & delicious! With a mill to make it onsite!

PINK CHEE CHEONG FUN? Bb shamelessly loves pink, so I was excited when my friend introduced me to this strikingly coloured ccf by Grandpa Homemade Cheung Fun @grandpacheungfun at Toa Payoh West Food Center.

The pink comes from red dragonfruit which was added to the usual ccf mixture. The colour may be intense, but taste-wise, Bb couldn't taste the dragonfruit. Nonetheless, the ccf is silky smooth. They may be slightly thicker than those served by ex-chefs (nowadays too many until I lost count😆), but I appreciate that these wrinkled layers don't break apart easily when soaked in the light soy sauce blend. In fact, these bite-sized wraps taste even better with the strong umami and spicy kick from the accompanying Hae Bi Hiam chilli. 🔥 The diced char siew bits strewn within are tender and well-marinated, but I would have preferred a smoky char for some flavour contrast!

They also sell cooked-from-scratch Cantonese-style congee besides rice rolls if you still feel hungry.

Saw people posting about the colourful cheong fun from this stall and make my way here to try it.

Unfortunately it wasn’t my luck as they don’t have it for the day I was there. But since I have queue up so end up getting their original cheong fun instead.

I would say it still taste decent with soft texture of the cheong fun, filled with egg and pieces of prawn. The chili paste provided really give the kick I want for the taste.

I guess next round when I’m here hopefully they will have the colourful cheong fun.
