Got this on foodpanda bc I had a discount code and was really craving fried rice and this was the cheapest option.... But WOW THIS WAS SO GOOD. I've walked past this restaurant countless times and always thought it looked a bit shady/wasn't sure how it carried on operations bc its really so decrepit-looking, but the fried rice blew me away. Fragrant with a nice bite and generous with ingredients! Would order again even at full price.

One thing that our table raved about was the excellently wok hei- ed Hor Fun that we ended with and made us overlook the Hokkien Mee. An amazing vegetarian version of a Local- Chinese staple this is something to return for. With so many nostalgia points for this place, a return visit is warranted to try other signature dishes the server (who has been there since day 1 we frequent) recommends. She is quite consistently accurate, in terms of how the dishes taste, of what she suggests.

This vegetarian restaurant saw me growing up as we used to visit almost weekly back when we stayed at YCK. Coming back here after years definitely brings back a slew of memories; some things that have remained are the memorable chrysanthemum tea, metal locker beside the washroom, wedding banquet decors and the general scent of the place. While the menu has seen drastic changes (with a whole new Thai vegetarian selection), I choose the Hokkien mee for memory sake- as I remembered slurping the perfectly stewed and wok fried noodles as a hungry child. Sadly I was disappointed with the far from perfect noodles; the current version was slightly watered down with a little greasy yellow noodles that left a poor aftertaste.
