Pretty yummy sandwiches here, a little bit towards the smaller side but alright if you’re not too hungry or if you’re planning to get some sides.

The Kurobuta Bacon was thin and crispy, perfect with the guacamole. The furikake aioli was a nice fusion touch. Along with the sunny side egg (there’s just something so satisfying about eggs in sandwiches), roasted pickled tomatoes and greens, the ingredients in this sandwich make it a great brunch pick.

The Sammies here are made with freshly baked Shokupan bread, which was soft and fluffy. I personally would’ve preferred if the bread slices were slightly thicker because well, I love bread!

The Burpple 1-for-1 deal made the sandwich quite an okay deal, otherwise I would’ve thought that the size of the sandwich is pretty small for its price. Wouldn’t get it on its own definitely. A pity there’s only one deal on Burpple Beyond for Sammies!

We visited on a weekend morning and it wasn’t too busy. There’s quite a bit of seating space on the second floor.

The tonkatsu was tender and juicy, went really well with the teriyaki mustard for some savoury zing. The pickled golden pear and greens balanced all the flavours in the sandwich out and added a refreshing crunch too. The Gouda cheese was a nice addition but it wasn’t melted in our sandwich which I found was a bit wasted - it was just a solid slice (on the menu it’s indicated that it’s supposed to be melted). Melted cheese in sandwiches is kinda the cherry on top for me.

Food was good, their regular coffee was a good pick me up too

Very filling, good for sharing

Tried the Losing Nemo Sandwich ($19), quite worth the money with the 1-for-1 deal. No promotion for the coffee though.

Nice ambience and simple sandwiches, also only 5 minutes walk from Chinatown MRT. Will come back 👍

📍grids coffee bar (maxwell) @gridscoffeebar

Again your hustlin’ boy and girl 💁‍♂️💁‍♀️ were desperately looking for a place to study (and of course, fill our bellies 😋) so we hunted down yet another cafe in the chinatown area to chill out and eat hehe.
.
@gridscoffeebar is just opposite cross street exchange and features three storeys worth of seats, study spots, and of course those cafe vibes you’ve been looking for! Even better, they’re ALSO on @burpple 🥹🤑 - we immediately eyed upon and settled with their beautiful sandos.

First up is the mighty 𝙋𝙞𝙜𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙤 ($16). You’d definitely notice the thiccc panko pork loin 🐷🍖 sitting in the sando - it was SO inviting that we had to resist taking a big bite when it was served HAHA. The pork was crisp and firm yet tender, giving you that satisfying crunch from the skin and juiciness from the meat. The pear shibazuke pickle was a sour punch in the face that balanced out the richness and saltiness of the pork too! 🤩
