Was really keen to have the pancakes but the portions here left no room for that.
An excellent place to get your eggs fix; I absolutely loved the enveloped tamago sandwiched between thick milk bread. The slabs of kombu mayo also hosted an added savoury dimension compared to the normal creamy mayo.
Back to the bread here, I’d park in between stellar in-house baked bread and banal store bought commercial bread. Overall, I’d like to return for the sweets which are sadly not on burpplebeyond.

We all have days when we want to eat a little cleaner to make up for an over-indulgent weekend😂 The Roasted Pumpkin Toast ($16) from Grids & Circles is perfect for such days - it consists of roasted pumpkin, roasted capsicum, whipped feta, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds on top of a slice of Focaccia bread. The roasted vegetables are soft and sweet and they go well with the creamy feta cheese. Though it is quite pricey for a light bite, there is a one-for-one deal on Burpple Beyond:)

This was just alright compared to Oyako Toast, tasted healthy but generous serving of avocado 🥑

I loved it!!!!!!!!! The eggs and the terayaki chicken, together with the sauce all went well together :”) slightly expensive without bb 1-1 but it was a great choice!! Bread was fluffy and sweet too! Cafe was really big and spacious (loved the level 2 space) - good spot for doing work!

To be honest, I was semi-skeptical about Grids & Circles as the menu looks super healthy (yes I have a somewhat unhealthy palate)😛 But since I have been overeating this week and there is a one-for-one deal on Burpple Beyond, why not? The Oyako Pan ($15) exceeded my expectations! Tender and juicy chicken thigh cooked in teriyaki sauce, silky scrambled eggs and Asian salad dressed in kombu mayo are served atop English muffins - the mayo and teriyaki sauce complemented each other and it was surprisingly tasty. For records, Oyako Pan is served with mixed greens as well but I replaced mine with a 2nd serving of chips:P My friend had Salmon Ochasuke ($16) which comprises of a pan-fried salmon fillet on top of rice, white bait, puff rice and cherry tomatoes. You have to pour the bacon genmaicha dashi broth over the rice to complete the porridge. The flavours are clean and subtle, but not bland. The cafe, from its decor to utensils to vibes, is comfortable and relaxing. Not a bad choice if you wish to get away from the crowd for a mental and gastronomical detox.

Ordered the French Toast ($15++), DIY Bfast w/ Hashbrown ($19++) and Lavender Latte ($5.50++). Intended to use Burpple Beyond but take note that they have quite a few restrictions, and DIY bfast is excluded from Burpple Beyond as well.

One word for all the food: mediocre. DIY bfast was vvvvv meh and tasted like smth you can get anywhere else; not worth the price at all. French toast was nicer but the toast was soggy in itself (i.e. not browned enough either), and ice cream tasted v cheap 😅

Lavender Latte was probably the worst of all. The staff informed me that it would only be lavender and milk, and I would have to add on a shot of espresso if I wanted. I didn’t opt for that and the drink tasted like plain water. It was SO diluted I couldn’t even taste any milk OR lavender at all?

Saving grace was that the staff were v nice and still explained to us about the burpple restrictions. But other than that, I would say.... the food isn’t worth the price.
