From the Burpple community

Had the oyako pan, it was a tad salty. ($8/pax)
Love the cozy warm ambience which makes this place pretty & perfect. There's also a small corner at l2 where you can rest on the couch with your friends.
Free wifi and water available.
Apparently they will change the menu every 3 months hence there's no more pulled k-pork which I wanted to try.
Looking forward to their new menu again soon!

A very different take on the typical Oyako Don as rice has been replaced by muffins in this dish. I thought the scrambled eggs and chicken were very well made and it would be perfect if the muffin were not as dry.

This super clean Japanese inspired lunch was originally priced at $16, but made value-for-money with the Burpple 1 for 1. It made for my first ochazuke experience! :)

A mountain of Kinmemai rice was crowned with a hunk of sous vide crispy salmon, cherry tomato and nori. Artfully surrounding it was puffed rice and whitebait sprinkled with bits of shiso. It was served with a jug of bacon genmaicha broth to pour over the rice.

The crispy salmon was really good. Cooked to a perfect pink in the center, it flaked with a fork effortlessly. I would have liked the broth to have a stronger tea aroma to provide more taste to the rice. However I did like the saltiness of the whitebait and the crunch the puffed rice provided. It tasted clean, balanced and well thought out. I really enjoy meals that showcase unadulterated taste of food, so this meal really ticked all the boxes for me.

The cafe screamed aesthetic with its whitewashed storefront and interior. It also has freeflow water and wifi on all levels. A lovely place in the heart of Chinatown to study and just take a chill pill over good food and tea.
