There was a little buzz on social media when Guan Hin moved over to Chinatown Complex so I’ve been wanting to try it. Sadly, it was never opened when I went over so I had to wait until last weekend to finally have It. IT WAS SO WORTH IT!

The carrot cake bits were so fluffy and soft, I could break it with my tongue. Two thumbs up for the super flavorful egg that has been thrown over the sizzling hot plate with chye Poh and garlic. Everything in this dish is what you can ask for in a carrot cake. $3 for the portion you see here is a really reasonable price too!

Yummy black carrot cake for lunch! They used to be at Geylang Bahru Hawker Centre but moved to Chinatown cos of renovation works.

Operating from Thursday to Sunday, 11am-3pm, uncle makes the carrot cake by hand every morning.

Highly recommended!

This 85 years old uncle has been frying carrot cake for 50 years & still going strong! No forget to mention he make his own kueh everyday. $3 or $4

SPECIAL LOVE FOR:
The fact that the elderly owners steam the carrot cake themselves!

Nice touch of spiciness and the right amount of chyepoh

WILL WE RETURN? Yessss

Had always been wanting to try this stall for a while especially since the Carrot Cake here is made by the stall owners themselves — the Carrot Cake was probably one of the softest and moister ones around being pretty bouncy with every bite.

Between the two, I would prefer the black but both the black and white are still pretty good. The black one takes the cake for those who love their black carrot cake saucy; they seem to be pretty generous with the sauce which provides for a dark, rich and sweet flavour. The white comes with a prominent spiciness if one were to opt for chili,
