Burpple 1 for 1 deal applies only for the Don and Udon items. We decided to get the Unagi Don ($15.90+) and Yakitori Don ($14.90+). Nothing to shout about for the Udon, it was your typical Udon soup handled fine. The Yakitori were well charred and had a nice sweet glaze. Wouldn't pay the full price for the meal though. Would come back for their Happy Hour promos.

3.5⭐ Saw on Burpple that beef don is available here and it's those cube type. Both of us ordered the same don. The beef is slightly hard and does not have the melt in your mouth feeling unlike Waa Cow Wagyu don. The Ajitsuke Tamago and Ikura adds points to the don. However felt a bit jelak to finish the don.

Pork katsu was very crispy and juicy. The nori rice was a pleasant surprise as it was mixed with roe and furikake, making the whole dish very tasty. The bowl also comes with half an ajitama and a few small slices of pickled radish.

Serving size was average. Personally I thought it was a pretty good deal for bar food in the Orchard area after the Burpple Beyond 1-for-1 deal, all things considered. To note that the 1-for-1 deal is only applicable for dons and udons, with no exceptions in these categories.

Staff were friendly and helpful, creating a positive overall dining experience. The bar is spacious with multiple tables and chairs for groups, and its laid back atmosphere makes it suitable for casual group gatherings. Decoration-wise this place was pretty unique - dimly lit, with the ceilings and walls lined with unique toys, bottles of alcohol, neon signages, and street graffiti.

I would come back if I were around the area and craving for casual Japanese food, but only with the Burpple Beyond 1-for-1 deal.

We also got a free mug (yes, they were pretty generous with the serving size!) of highball after reviewing them on Google. Good stuff, or should I say GudSht? I guess they do live up to their name indeed.

Had the beef cubes don buri. After consuming the meal, I have to say that the meat portion is quite generous.
The food came quite fast maybe because the whole place was apparently reserved and the waiter told us that because of our impeccable timing, there was a table for us to eat. Thank you so much for the stars to align and providing us with a table. So maybe next time y’all should reserve a table too just to be safe.

Food came with some dark colored rice. Actually I am not sure of the supposed color because as you can see the lighting is already dark. But from my palate I could taste the seaweed and some tobiko.

Beef was tender and well cooked. Also beef was dark colored too. So I am guessing the whole theme of the restaurant is dark colored food and choice of color will be the 1 egg and yellow radish. This strategy to use color seems to have little effect on me as the egg taste the same and the radish is still a radish. But I mean, if everything is dark and you can’t really see what you eating I am guessing that even if something was amiss in your food, no one knows. So perhaps there are some merit to this dining experience.

exceeded our expectations for food from a bar but was not objectively outstanding. my friend who ordered a pork katsu don ($12.90++) felt that for this price (discounted), she would rather spend that money on toriQ & that she was unlikely to revisit. i ordered the saba don ($10.90++) and found the food decently yummy & would return. the rice was slightly crunchy with tobiko and furikake, the egg was ramen egg with a jammy yolk. the pork katsu was kind of dry with no sauce on top or at the side. total bill was $15.10 post discount.
