Tasty ramen. Cha shu is a bit too hard to bite though.

None of your regular bento and donburi are available here; instead, you'll find a whole lot of ramen, and Chinese-Japanese dishes like Kanitama (crab meat omelette) and Subuta (sweet & sour pork).

It's possible to have a meal under $15 - the Gyoza ($5) and Tori Chahan ($6) make a pretty filling combination. The elastic gyoza skin crisped up nicely on the seared side, but the filling was unfortunately mushy and bland. I even felt like there were just veges/onions and no pork at all. The fried rice was mushy too, but it was pretty tasty and rather huge for a half portion (the full portion costs $10).

Supper that's so old school it puts starch in school uniforms.

Quite bland. Didn't know what I was thinking. Why did I try this? Noodles were quite mushy too. To be fair the pork was pretty tender but that's about it.

Probably the best gyoza ($5) in town. Simple, unassuming, flavourful gyoza pieces that are crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, with not too much skin. Paired with white vinegar here, the combination goes perfectly!

Saw some people making their own spicy vinegar chili base, similar to the Chinese Spicy wanton (红油抄手), with the available condiments and I am so interested to try that the next time round.
