Not very sure why, but I always assumed that the food here was overhyped. But it’s not bad leh. The beef was tender, serving size decent, and the egg was done right (doing an egg not right is the worst thing you can ever do). Will be back. Worth it with or without Burpple Beyond.

💵: $10

🤔: Was surprisingly delish, and found myself preferring this over the highly-raved roast beef don. Unagi was tender and its marinade was super tasty!

💵: $13

🤔: Pretty yumz though I preferred the unagi don over this. Yolk was cooked perfectly, roast beef was tender and the marinade was gooood!

Likely to be the first Burpple Beyond partner that did not adopt the “1-for-1” deal system, but Gyu Nami was able to stand out with their S$20.00 for Two Don deal, which consisted of any two Donburi for great value.

If you had tried Red Rock before, you would be familiar with the mountain of sliced Wagyu beef which was torched perfectly before adding a raw egg and sauce from the top. And their Signature Roast Wagyu Don (S$13.00 for Large) was quite able to deliver that droolsome flavour that I recalled from Tokyo.

If beef is just not on your list of cravings, I also liked their Salmon Mentaiko Don (S$12.00). Also flame-torched, but this seafood rice bowl was just well-flavoured within the rice, salmon and Mentaiko sauce.

Just a note though, that the deal would not cover two sets of Signature Roast Wagyu Don (Large), as told by the management of the restaurant.

Pretty decent Japanese store. Overall the meal is flavourful. The roast beef don was well seasoned with onsen egg. Worth the try! (4/5)

I gave a star less is due to two reasons;

1) The portion is small(regular). Paying for about $10+ regular don can be very “sad” for the big eaters. The “large” roast beef don is actually a just nice size for a big eater.

2) Not sure why am I charged with service charges(10%). Tbh, there’s is barely any service, other than taking your orders and cleaning your table.

The tamago cos $3.90 but the size of it is ridiculously small and has shrunk from when I came a month ago.

Paying $4 for this is not worth it.
In addition, the Burpple deal is a lie... $20 for 2 dons, but we are only allowed to order one large beef don and one regular one. Meaning, with the deal, we save $3. Will not come back again for the deal or order the sides
