Added strawberry (+$1) and protein shot (+$1.50). Açai blended with cacao is uncommon and interesting. Unsweetened cacao actually helps to reduce appetite and makes one feel fuller. Completed with nuts, protein and granola, this bowl is rather wholesome. It would feel more filling than the signature açai bowl of the same size.
The best surprise in the bowl was the pink goop of beetroot hummus which was spiced and formed a nice dressing to the salad bowl.
I’m not really a fan of banana, coconut flakes or nut butter but this turned out as a pretty good combination! This size is more worth it compared to the smaller portion and it’s good for sharing. Personally, I really liked how the nut butter and crunch went well with the smooth cocoa açai base!
Mix and match salad bowl - chose the pasta base with broccoli, mushroom, eggplant (dill and lemon) which was a good combination together with the salmon. Added on truffle vinegar sauce (additional 30 cents) to complement the dish. The dishes were well seasoned but cold (expected since it’s a salad) and pretty filling.
Must try the beetroot hummus!! It’s a definite pick-me-up on a bad day hahaha. The chicken breast wasn’t dry either!
If you’ve tried Haakon’s Açai bowls, you would know exactly how healthy and wholesome their food are! For the uninitiated, Haakon sells healthy food options, including rice bowls, carb-alternatives, açai bowls and - I believe - vegan options too.
Their food tastes super clean. Health-freaks can be happy to dine at Haakon for a guilt-free meal.
