Another formidable player in the scene is this other well-loved hotpot chain. Foolproof hotpot aside, the service here is impeccable — think manicures, screen protectors for your phone, popcorn and tea in the waiting area. Go for the tangy Tomato soup and Chicken broth ($22 for two). Ingredients-wise, order their fried bean curd skin ($10) and Kurobuta Shabu Shabu Pork ($16). If you're coming in a smaller group, note that half portions are available! Be sure to order some of their handmade noodles, specially prepared a la minute in a theatrical performance.

Definitely a pricey hotpot but service was excellent. I like that you can decide how flavourful you want the soup to be.

If we go there later will need to wait long.

We ordered seafood and chicken broth. Very nice. We advice you order the meat for half portion first so that you can try more dishes.

The beef and chicken are nice. no need to pay for the Wagyu as the normal beef is good enough. We tried pork liver and broccoli with rice.

Comes with unlimited fruits like watermelon and honey dew. We rate this 7.5/10.
Budget around $100 for 4 persons. Go there before 5pm to avoid waiting for a table.

I’ve been to Hai Di Lao once when I moved to Singapore and I couldn’t say I enjoyed the experience. It was too loud, too brash for me. However, today, dining in their private rooms was a totally different experience altogether. Totally enclosed and far from the madding crowd, we were like in a world of our own. The service was impeccable and so was the food. I personally love the black pork here. Portions are generous and we were so full that we had to almost roll out of our plush room.

Chosen the tomato and herbal chicken soup base. With loads of meatball and processed food.

The highly drinkable Sichuan Spicy Hot Pot is quite possibly my favourite Mala soup base yet, being sweet and yet simultaneously possessing a Fifty Shades of Grey-esque gently tongue-whipping quality at the same time. Elsewhere, the Local Laksa Hot Pot played it all low-key Nissin Laksa-esque and the Chicken Soup Hot Pot was the herbal equivalent of a light, comforting caress of the soul. I wonder if any of the remaining soup bases beat the ones I tried?
