There isn't too much meat on the bones, whatever was there was alright but not spectacular. You're here mainly for the marrow and the sweet spicy sauce which tastes exactly like it looks.

Tbh pretty ex if you ask me since there's no meat but it's pretty decent. Don't see this around too often

Get a chopstick to scoop out the marrow onto the bread, and ladle some red sauce on top. Enjoy

Bread is pretty average, not crispy, quite light and just enough integrity to hold the sauce.

The mutton soup is pretty full bodied, quite a few chunks of mutton and they were all reasonably tender.

Very enjoyable and well executed, nothing over the top

The bright red colour of the Soup Tulang Merah ($10 + $2 for bread) from Haji Kadir Food Chains (Golden Mile Food Centre #B1-13/15) was not the most appetising sight at first glance😅 Armed with plastic gloves, straw and a resolve to not stain my shirt, I dug into the mutton bone marrow stew and it was surprisingly good. The sauce was sweet and spicy and it was a great dip for the bread. Although the bones did not have a lot of meat, it was quite satisfying to gnaw the bits of meat directly off the bones. The meat was tender and it was not gamy (I think the sauce helped!). The jelly-like marrow inside the bone can be sucked out with the help of a straw and few knocks on the bone. Achievement unlocked😬!

travelled all the way to try this and I have to say it was worth traveling for! Enjoyed it even till the last bite.
Bought their mutton soup too, and both balanced out so well.
Definitely my go to place for tulang cravings 😋

Tulang is not really my thing (1st time trying it), but according to my dining partner he commented this is one of his first few that he had that was not simply about full on spiciness as the gravy bore a peanut fragrance within, and there were quite a lot of bone marrow to suck. Kambing Soup was light and clear, pretty clean in flavour but my dining partner preferred thicker flavours, though it came with a generous amount of mutton as well whIch was good.
