This is a huge bowl with 4 chashu pieces, and it's essentially their signature with the collagen-rich pork bone soup. Quite a classic flavour that can't really go wrong, although if you want something different then you can go for their garlic one - Black Tonkotsu or Bonito flavoured ramen.

Added a flavoured egg for $2.50, and this was actually quite an interesting one! It's Chicken × Bonito × Pork soup, and you can indeed taste bonito in this rich broth. Definitely slurp-worthy 🤭.

Tbh black ramen is usually my go-to, because of its strong flavours from the fried garlic paste. This was definitely a rich and thick broth that's for those who go for strong/ bold flavours usually.

They offer free Gyozas on your birthday based on your age!! You can choose how many to cook, and how many to bring back (in frozen form) so don't worry about stuffing yourself with gyozas 😂.

Gyozas (free)
We decided to just cook 20 gyozas and bring the rest home, and their gyozas came slightly crisp, altho the gyozas tend to stick together and the skin tears easily when you try to pull them apart. Flavourwise not too bad!

First time trying this - I usually go for the tonkotsu, and surprisingly I prefer the bonito soup. The bonito ramen comes with chicken x bonito x pork soup, with tender thin pork cha-shu, bamboo shoots, seaweed, and spring onions.

Comparing the soups, the tonkotsu has a more thicc and creamy texture (the collagen!), while the bonito is more flavourful (umami from the bonito I guess) but the mouthfeel is cleaner and easier to drink bc it’s not as creamy (less collagen?).

Also this comes with a thicker noodle as opposed to the regular thin noodles in all their other ramens. It’s nice too, but I am a sucker for their thin noodles which are more outstanding to me. Either way, still my fav ramen spot in sg! Maybe I’ll try to see if I can order bonito ramen with thin noodles bc that would be my ideal combo!

The first time I had Ikkousha was in the early 2010s at Ramen Champion located at bugis+. I was glad they were champions 2 years in a row as they were my favourite stall, just ahead of Bario's Ramen.

Ikkousha Ramen has 2 outlets now, one here at Chijmes and the other at Tanjong Pagar. I dare to say this is my favourite Ramen in Chijmes, and considering that there's a 1 Michelin star Ramen here at chijmes.

Decided to share this God Fire Ramen with the wife. It is basically theur original tonkotsu broth with the ikkousha's secret brand of "spicy fire", thin noodles, tender pork chashu, fungus, spring onions and seaweed

U can choose the softness/firmness of the noodle u want, I usually go with normal.

U can also choose saltiness level as well, please go with the normal as its the authentic Japanese taste.

Overall, this is my Favourite Ramen here at Ikkousha. I usually go level 1 spicy la, stomach weak. Level 1 already can taste the awesomeness, any spicier, sweat too much and can't enjoy already

This place has a long snaking queue even after 8pm on a weekday.
