Top left: ayam buah keluak burger @ $8
Top right: spicy pulled pork burger @ $7.50
Bottom: hand cut fries @ $2.50

The spicy pulled pork burger was not bad and the layers of taste from the top bun to the mayo sauce to the pulled pork and then to the cheese and the bottom bun was very distinct and really nice. But there's not much surprise there so it's quite average.

The ayam buah keluak burger has a bit more of an acquired taste and we are not sure if it's suitable as a burger dish. Probably try once for novelty and never again.

The handcut fries were really good though, the texture and taste were all quite good.

Hawker to restaurant! A poly favorite place now located with the hipsters! Check out their burgers which are really juicy and paired with Chinese tea!

The Crispy Pork Belly Burger ($8.50) comes with a generous portion of crispy pork belly. The skin has a lovely crackle, the pork is moist and flavourful and it goes well with the English mustard and hoisin sauce. Super impressed with this!

I have been wanting to visit Hambaobao for their interesting burgers! At the top of my wish list is the Ayam Buah Keluak Burger ($8) as I am a big fan of buah keluak in Peranakan cuisine. The burger comes with a minced chicken patty that is throughly infused with the nutty aroma of buah keluak. The juicy patty is topped with chap chye and sandwiched between two soft buns. I love the flavour profile and umami of this burger - fusion done right here!

THE CRONCH was greatly cronchy, even with the sauce slathered over it. It’s also hard to eat because there are several pieces of pork belly stacked on top of each other, but no complaints because I enjoyed every bite. I didn’t quite like the mustard, but it cuts through the fat so makes sense. Service was good too. 100/10 happy.

Fresh is the word I will use to describe the food here. From the bun to the patty to even the sauce, the burgers here really fresh tasting. The What The Fish Burger ($8) consist of dory fish that are very beautifully charred and goes very well with the charred zucchini inside! The Classic Beef Burger ($7.50) is juicy but yet not too salty nor oily. I think what hits me most is the hand cut fries ($2.50) which were so fresh and fluffy on the inside. It's bursting with potato flavours 😍 The queue is pretty long here so be sure to make reservations!
