We are back at Hans Im Gluck to try their other beef burgers and this time, we decided to try out the Scharfrichter! This beef burger contained a beef patty, topped with portobello mushrooms and rockett leaves, and were covered in a generous serving of black pepper sauce. The black pepper sauce went pretty well with the beef patty, although the restaurant might have been a little too generous with the sauce, which made eating the burger a little too messy. Also, the sauce is one of the spicier black pepper sauces that we have tried, so this is definitely something to be wary off! Nonetheless, black pepper + beef + mushrooms is definitely a combination that cannot go wrong. 😋

We upgraded the burger to a set meal and we ordered a Weissbier with our meal to have the full dining experience! For the full meal, we paid $31 and we were really full after it (presumably because of the beer). Boat Quay was fairly empty on a weekday afternoon, although you can be sure this place livens up a lot at night, so do make a reservation if you are heading down for dinner!

We have wanted to try Hans Im Gluck for so long and today, we finally had the chance to try it! We visited the Boat Quay outlet for lunch on a weekday and it was fairly empty, hence we were lucky enough to get an indoor seat with air conditioning! The restaurant had a really extensive menu and after much deliberation, we decided to order the Birkenwald, which is a beef burger with mushrooms and sour cream sauce!

You can choose among different types of buns for your burger and we chose the sourdough bun, which came with a very slight sourish tinge that you can taste only if you eat the bun alone. The buns were lightly toasted and as a result, they are somewhat crispy on the outside and were not soggy from the sauce, which is a big plus! The beef patty was thick and we think its doneness was probably around medium, and we thought it went pretty well with the mushrooms! However, the sour cream pairing was a little strange (especially with the beef) and you might want to add the barbeque sauce (can be found on every table) to your burger instead if that is better for you!

We ordered the set meal and as a result, we could opt for a side dish! We chose the thick-cut fries which honestly came in a far larger serving than we expected! 😁 We loved the generous serving size and the firm texture. Furthermore, the fries were freshly-fried and served piping hot!

The set meal also comes with a drink and we upgraded it to a Weissbier pint, which is a 500 mL serving of ice-cold, slightly fruity wheat beer. We liked our choice of beer as it was not hoppy at all and there wasn't much bitterness in it.

The set meal was really filling and we ate to our heart's content. Although we paid $31++ for the meal, which was a little on the high side to be honest, we were really satisfied! 😁😁

This promo set (~$85) 🍔 5/10 got me 3 burgers, 3 sets of fries, a set of wings, and 3 drinks.

I usually really love their burgers but unfortunately I think delivery did a number on these -- the fries were quite soggy and what really irked me was that the burgers were bone-dry?? So disappointing. 😓 Guess I'll stick to dining in here.

Tasty and also vegetarian. Good portions. I keep coming back here

Located at Boat Quay, the place has a beautiful view of the Singapore River and a chill and lazy vibe. We ordered the SOMMERGLÜCK and GESELLE set meals, (basically their grilled chicken breast burgers), and the burgers were moist, juicy and delicious, not to mention the sweet potato fries were absolutely addictive.

We paid a total of $55~ but it's quite worth it as the food is very filling, the ambience was great. Even on a Friday night, there was not much of a crowd and it just felt pretty comfortable.

Highly reccomended to visit. 9/10

*Disclaimer: we ate a lot of fries before taking this photo while waiting for our entire order to come, there's actually alot of fries, enough to share

Been ages since I went to this burger place, and the quality of the food and service is still high or even better. We had the Hans Im Gluck set ($24 + $4 for alcoholic drink) and the Henne set ($23 + $4 for alcoholic drink) and they were superb 😍 the burgers are really customizable, and don't expect the burgers to be sinfully juicy; they are known for their natural healthy tasting burgers and I must say the ingredients used are really fantastic. Furthermore, the portion given is ENORMOUS 😂

I enjoyed the cocktails as well, they were huge, I think 3 small cocktail glasses worth? You can taste the alcohol so you know they do put some in it ☺️ the set comes with a hot drink to end your meal right 😊

The service is absolutely amazing, with the waiters occasionally checking if we are okay with our food, and asking if we need anything else 😊 will definitely be back again!
