We had basil minced pork with eggplant and petai with prawns, both $8.90 each. A good deal with burpple 1-1 and conveniently located opposite MOS burger near Toa Payoh MRT. My first time having petai, tastes a bit like Brussels sprouts :P

Ordered the clear chicken tom yam soup, chicken green curry, rice and a lemon grass drink for $12.90 after using burpple 1-for-1. Humble food for a value-for-money price.

For quick and easy dinners, turn to this casual eatery located in Toa Payoh Central for belly-warming Thai nosh. Fill up on the Chicken Phad Thai ($6), featuring bouncy kway teow noodles, and the tender Stir-Fried Chicken with Cashew ($9.90) that's great for sharing. Served deep-fried, the Crispy Kang Kong ($8.90) sporting a light and crisp Tempura-esque batter comes highly recommended by the community as well – dip that in the creamy and aromatic sauce that comes with it!

Popped by for a quick lunch when we were in the neighbourhood and got some dishes to share! The kailan with crispy pork ($9.90) was easily our favourite dish, with plenty of garlic and a spicy kick. The pork fell a little flat though, as it was soggy and a little tough to chew. The stir-fried chicken with cashew ($9.90) came with large cubes of tender meat and plenty of onions & capsicums, coated in a slightly sweet & spicy sauce. The rice was rather dry, but the chicken pad thai ($6) fared much better - the noodles had a good bite and came with plenty of ingredients! Wasn’t too crowded during the weekend lunch, and was super pleased that there were no extra taxes :-)

I’ve always been a ‘leafy vegetable’ person but my friend convinced me to try this and it was surprisingly good. Texture was on the crunchier side but still easy enough to eat. My friend commented that today’s was spicier than usual, we spotted quite a bit of chilli padi, do request if you can’t take the spiciness! Overall, a great neighborhood find, I also enjoyed my crab meat fried rice which was more on the sweet side.

Pad Thai 7+
Pineapple fried rice 8+
Sea bass was great at 10+, meaty fish :)
