Personally I loved anything savoury and Thai food always given me this satisfaction. Came across this place when I was browsing Burpple Beyond lists and read many good reviews.
Ordered main 1-for-1 crispy kangkong and clear tom yum soup since my husband canโt eat spicy . On top of it, ordered a steamed seabass with chilli & lime. The taste quite refreshing as they used lots of lime, and the fish is quite tender.
The crispy kangkong came with a dipping sauce which quite delectable and savoury. The less favourite diah was the clear tom yam soup with chicken. The soup was thin & sour only, without any โkickโ factor.
All in all, it was a pleasant meal and only cost $23.50 for total bill. Happy tummy yet happy wallet!
Was deciding between this and Kin Moo just a few stores down, and chose this since it was more crowded (oops). Anw we got the tomyum soup with prawns, eggplant and minced meat and pad thai. All 3 dishes were really good, especially the soup!! The soup had just the right balance of spiciness and sourness, and very full bodied ๐
Tried both fried and steamed $9.9 fish on separate occasions and prefer the steamed one! Fish is fresh. For those who prefer flavourful fish, go for the fried! Prawn omelette is good too and pandan chicken comes in 3 (taste a bit like satay). Recommend!! Paid $30 for 5 dishes, good amount and variety for 4 pax
Visited this place for the 1-1 but turned out the food was great even at its original cost! $9.90 for a whole fish and the huge portions for the omelette and Tom yum was very satisfying.
Was attracted to this place because of their steamed seabass with lime and chilli $9.9 promo. Plus they were listed on Burpplebeyond and we get to enjoy 1-for-1 for the other dishes too! (Note the promo $9.9 steamed seabass is not included in the 1 for 1 promo). The main dishes that we ordered are: clear tom yum seafood soup, crispy kangkong, Thai omlette with oysters and stir fry chicken with cashew nuts (all $9.9 each).
The steamed seabass was fresh! But the chilli wasn't as spicy as what we had in Thailand (Songkla) before. The tomyum soup and the zhup for the steamed fish was quite similar though. So I will advise to opt for the green curry instead of the tomyum soup if you are getting the steamed seabass too! The kangkong was crispy till can't really taste the vegetable. Good for ppl like me who don't eat vegetables. I think I ate around 10 sticks that night ๐ and I love the spicy chilli sauce that comes with the crispy kangkong! We felt that it was slightly too fried though so it will be too much of it is only shared between 2 pax. For larger groups it will still be alright and not too jelat. I like the crispy fried Thai omelette egg as well! Got the oysters (although I don't eat oysters) because it was the higher priced $9.9 item and more worth it for the discount ๐ as for the stir fry chicken with cashew nuts, it came swimming in a pool of reddish oil and gave me a shock. Quite different from what I expected (and diff from the one we last ate at nahkohn Thai Vivo). But because big red chilli was used, it wasn't spicy at all. All in all we paid about $41+ for 4 pax for above dishes + rice and drinks. Affordable meal with Burpplebeyond. Use my code to get 30% off Burpplebeyond membership plans: LIJU445
Hanuman is located in food alley at Toa Payoh central. If you want to have authentic Thai food, head over to this restaurant. They served authentic and delicious Thai food. Most of their dishes are affordable at only S$9.90.
Their cashew nut chicken is delicious with abundance of onions, cashew nuts and chicken, take note it cooker to a sweet note. The clear tomyum is the one of the highlight, it tangy and spicy, those who canโt take spice, do take note.
Overall I had an enjoyable experience eating here and will definitely visit again.
