this mala pizza was super good! super worth with the burpple deal and big shout out to Jessica the service staff extremely kind pleasant and patient! Thumbs up 🥰🥰

Perfectly fried truffle mushroom risotto rice balls, stacked atop each other in a tomato-based pond & topped with grated parmesan is not something you'd think of when you head to a pizza parlour. But boy does this catch your eye & appetite when you order it!

The hint of truffle is subtle (smell-wise), but when you bite into it, the gentle aroma of truffle perfumes every possible taste bud & senses in your body to give you that nice oomph, leaving you wanting to dive into it another time.

Visited the place only to find out that we are unable to use the beyond deal as there was “not enough dough” - though if we wanted to order the same amount of pizzas (4 pizzas) without using the deal, it is possible. The store should not have been on burpple if it wasn’t ready to offer the deals as promised. Food was honestly not too bad, but did not appreciate the business ethics.

A cute little corner shop at City Gate decorated with bright neon lights. We went for the Hawaii Five-O ($27) and Sweet Dreams ($26) using the burpple deal. The pineapple ring on Hawaii was really sweet which gave a good contrast to the cheese. I wished there was more of it! Sweet dreams was four types of cheese drizzled with honey, cheese + honey is a marriage made in heaven. What could go wrong? Both pizzas had a nice char on the top but were actually pretty burnt underneath which caused a bitter taste.. Both of them were also on the greasy side.. At this price point I doubt I will return again.

Taking over the former premises of Manna at City Gate, Happy Ending Pizza Parlour is a new pizzeria which had opened its doors as a physical store rather recently — the establishment was previously more of an online operation serving patrons through delivery since June 2020.

Admittedly we did give Happy Ending Pizza Parlour a visit for its quirky name, but someone else had to point out the name of the pizza that we had ordered that things sound more twisted than it felt initially (😝). That being said, the Sweet Dreams was a pizza off the “Unique Pizza” section of the menu — essentially a four cheese pizza featuring elements such as mozzarella, blue cheese, parmesan and ricotta with a drizzle of honey; a pizza that fits well for those who don’t necessarily find meaty pizzas appealing (yes, such folks do exist — don’t be surprised especially for those who grew up eating the Hawaiian). Coming in a size of approximately 10 to 11 inches, the Sweet Dreams does seem reasonably sized to feed one really hungry human being, or two with a rather typical appetite — the crust comes beautifully blistered from the baking process; slightly bready but still light, airy and fluffy, though I could see those who love crusty charred edges probably find this less aligned to their preferences. Whilst wafting of a pungent cheesiness when it arrived the table with most of the aroma coming from the blue cheese, the pizza was pretty light taste-wise; sufficiently cheesy but doesn’t carry the punch I had initially expected from the blue cheese especially — perhaps much of it was already complimented by the drizzle of honey which gives it a tinge of sweetness amidst the slight saltishness which does remind us remotely of the Honey Soy craze a couple of years ago. So sinful, but yet so comforting somehow.

Still found it a shame that we didn’t really get to try the meatier renditions here (oh, we ended up going for a round of Thai Mookata cos’ Golden Mile) — probably something that I might considering making the visit here again next time. Interestingly, Happy Ending Pizza Parlour does also serve up their pizzas with add-on sauces — think Chili Crab, Zesty Red Pesto, and Bacon Jam; all for one to dunk their pizza in for yet another flavour contrast. Unique concept, I would say!

Spicy Babe is a mala-beef pizza and this was a unique flavour that works surprisingly well. I wouldn’t have imagined mala on a pizza but the mala spice really came through despite the cheese and the combi was amazing! It was a comfortable level of spice for the 小辣 and 中辣 mlxg eaters, so spiciniess should not be a problem.

The pizza crust had the right thickness - not too thick nor thin, and it was very flavourful. The pizza does get abit tough when it’s cold so please eat it while it’s hot!

Really recommend Happy Ending Pizza - great pizzas, bright and lively decor, very friendly owner, and super convenient location to top it off. Take the link bridge from Nicoll Highway MRT directly to level 2 of City Gate. There’s also free 2h parking with a minimum spend of $20!

The owner shared that they are still in their soft launch phase but from next Monday onwards they will have their official launch with an expanded menu, so I’d say head down to try before they get too popular!
