Located at the doorstep of Outram MRT station, this outlet serves very tasty Japanese food. Ordered Chirashizushi and it was tasty with fresh salmon and tuna slices! Taste it for yourself! Don’t forget their signature cream buns and soft serves too!

Love the smoothness of the ice cream. Made from Hokkaido fresh milk, topped with finely grounded pistachio. Nice as treat for a tough day and perfect as a sweet ending for your dinner.

Given to choose between Pistachio or normal Hokkaido soft serve, I would go for Pistachio. As I have tried both ice creams and felt Pistachio has a more rich flavour and grounded pistachio topping adding a layer of texture.

Just the price is sitting on the higher side.

We ordered the PIPES tamago burger.
The beef patty and burger buns were great! But the tamago can’t be tasted coz of beef patty overpowered the tamago.
Didn’t manage to try the foie gras bcoz it went down the trash. Coz the shopkeepers were too stingy to let us dabao home...

Angels only (the mentaiko pasta) was interesting. It was like dried shrimp with mentaiko. It’s ok — slightly above avg pasta. Al dente — texture was good.

Truffle fries were ok.

But the cream buns were still great (despite the experience) — would recommend the custard and azuki. No to matcha — the matcha taste below avg compared to other jap places.

The place supposedly closes at 9pm but at 8.20pm they were already asking us to foot the bill and packing up our unfinished food.

So we asked if we could dapao but coz we were on burpple they said no. We didn’t even over order to dapao. There were only 2 mains and 1 side for 3 grown adult ladies :( but we really couldn’t finish. But aiyas the food was soooo wasted :( foie gras and half a huuuuge bowl of truffle fries down the bin.

Won’t be coming again.

Ordered the pork burger which was pretty good! The burger was served piping hot and I like the tamago egg which lent a sweet profile. Pork was abit tough but still enjoyable. We waited 30mins for our food but the staff was very polite and hospitable which made up for it. A hidden gem and really worth it with burpple beyond!

Review: The bowl was good, with the slightly sour pickled pickled vegetables(not sure if it's just cucumber or not) complementing the umami taste of the mentaiko topping on the Salmon. However, I personally find the price point a little too high for a such a bowl as it's basically Japanese rice with sauce topped with salmon, mushrooms, pickled vegetables and an onsen egg. Also, the mentaiko sauce was a little to salty for my liking, even with rice. Overall, it is a good thing to try as it is yummy but given the high price point I probably would not come here very often :)

@hattendo_singapore eponymous big boi burger, the Pipes Burger($21.90), is available for daylight robbery with #burpplebeyond. Yeah, y’all already know the drill: two for the price of one. And this colossal burger ain’t an exception.⠀

The same fluffy burger buns barely contain the square of tamago, the ultra T H I C C hamburg patty, and the slice of foie gras. You will probably need to dislocate your jaw to get everything in one bite, but trust me when I say it’s worth it. The foie gras was a touch overcooked, but it still served satisfactorily as an indecently indulgent lubricant. A sort of meaty butter, if you will.⠀

The patty was oddly powdery in texture when I bit down into it, but it was still modestly moist & thoroughly well seasoned with an extra spicy slap from the hickory pepper sauce. The caramelised mirin onion marmalade injected a subtle yet scintillating sweetness into the burger, which was very well received. The omelette felt like an unnecessary addition to the burger as it was completely overshadowed by everything else, but it is what it is. And it, my friends, is a tasty burger.⠀

Once again, much love to @hattendo_singapore & @burpple for having us at this Eatup!
