The roasted meats tastsd good - firm, well seasoned and tender! However, i thought that the sauce that the noodles was mixed with was very mediocre - mainly spicy, and nothing else.

Charsiew is the lean kind that I like but might suit the taste of others who like the fatty kind. Pork ribs is okay but prob wont go out of my way to order it. Beansprouts a tad too raw for my liking. Noodle was pretty good, but rice has the sauce which is not bad too. Wish they provide the chilli for the noodles outside so tt i can add more. The default amt given was too little for me.

A very respectable plate of chicken rice this is, but Iโ€™m not entirely convinced itโ€™s award winning(even at the original outlet). What I like is the pieces of pork crackling strewn over the plate and the handful of soybeans. Do add on the roast pork($3), which was fatty and tender.

Taste: 3/5

Located at 18 Tai Seng, Singapore 534119. PS: 18 Tai Seng is conveniently link from Tai Seng MRT. 2nd consecutive year awarded 1 Michelin Star โญ๏ธ!! Soya Sauce Chicken Rice, $3.80. Soya chicken drumstick is very tender, flavourful and juicy! Soya Chicken skin is very fragrant and doesnโ€™t have a thick layer of fats underneath. Those beans at the side were very savoury and tasty too! We enjoyed every mouthful of rice with those gravy thatโ€™s not too salty nor sweet, goes so well with the Soya Chicken! This is an alternate place to indulge in a plate of award winning 1 Michelin Star Soya Chicken without the heat and the long snaking Q! @hawkerchansoyachicken #hungryunicornsg #hawkerchan #hawkerchansg #1michellinstar #18taiseng #soyasaucechicken

Not much room for error given its michelin-starred status but this really didnโ€™t disappoint. (Or maybe we were famished after our first CrossFit session ever). But on a more serious note, this didnโ€™t let us down one bit. The chicken was so tender, and even the breast meat. Despite the ubiquity of chicken rice stalls, not many many to achieve this texture with their meat, so we thought this was pretty outstanding. While the sauce might be a tad too salty, it went really well with the rice. The beans also provided a different touch, although it didnโ€™t add much to the dish. Also, our first ever michellin-starred stall, so we should support!
