[CLOSED] Hawker (Jewel Changi Airport)

Was surprised to find Hawker at Jewel and decided to its locally inspired menu a shot. The hot and piping chicken rice burger was completely on point - tasted just like its namesake despite the slightly unappetizing outlook. However, price point is a concern as i think $9 is hard to part for a downsized serving when the $5 chicken rice stall is just a few steps away.

The rice patty was nice and firm, won’t fall apart as you eat. Tasted very much like chicken rice too. Chili was very good, quite spicy. I think also got garlic ginger paste, thou everything was covered in the bright red chili sauce. Dunno why got tomato slice, I took it out. Chicken was a fabulously juicy thigh meat 👍🏻.

Had to wait a while for this, cos they only started steaming the chicken when I ordered. They gave me an extra serving of large curly fries to express their apologies. Top marks for service.

Buy a burger and top up $2 for curly fries (Large) and drink. I got Dasani water. These fries were hot and crispy but too salty for me.

Tried the this stall as it had one of the shortest Q during the preview of Jewel.

However, this chilli crab bun is quite a disappointment considering it is “inspired by No Signboard”. There was not enough sauce, the sauce was not flavourful and you can’t see the crab meat in the patty.

Not a stall I would come back to.
