From the Burpple community

A local inspired fast food restaurant open by No Signboard Seafood. No really big space here with indoor and outdoor seats available. You can order through the self service machine outside or through the counter inside.

But if you are Burpple Beyond subscriber, you can utilise here also. Just head over to the counter and show your Burpple Beyond to get one for one deal.

For the burger itself, I couldn’t say it is really good but mine were served very hot. Probably they prepare upon order (since no one here except me during the lunch time on Thursday). Even the curly fries also served hot.

The $8.50 set also comes with a regular drink.

Thought this was pretty legit! The chilli crab sauce over the crab patty with the fried mantou as the bun makes it really convenient to have a small taste of the chilli crab dish 🦀🌶️

A little pricey about $8.50 for ala carte and $10.50 for the meal. Oh if you're getting the meal with mash potato, do note that it's the instant kind that leaves you with instant regrets.

First of all, the product flaw is how hot it is to hold in hand. Don't forget there's no bun but steaming rice. Secondly, the product limitation is that chilli is inside, like it or not. It's like ordering a plate of chicken rice and the hawker drizzles chilli all over. Thirdly, I'm quite sure they heated this up because it's fast food and also it tasted so.

Just strolling along Esplanade the other day and randomly settled at Hawker QSR (situated at where now-defunct Suzette was) for dinner. Whilst the set-up isn’t the most attractive, the affordable prices and the local-inspired menu was a draw. Wasn’t expecting much, especially how I have waited for quite a while for this item to be prepared but it was worth the 25min wait — it replicates chicken rice to a tee. Starting off with the rice burger patties, the rice comes flavoured the same way you would expect; and a pretty good rendition indeed — sufficiently moist, yet flavoursome. Coming with cucumber for a crunch and it’s signature chili, the latter comes zingy and packs a spicy punch; tingles the taste buds for those who are able to take moderate spiciness while the chicken patty is juicy and tender, though requires a bit more chew. No doubt it can get messy; the slab of chicken that requires a bit of chew and the rice patties disintegrating a little in the process, but does carry enough oomph to replicate the dish it draws inspiration from — something I wouldn’t mind having again!

First time eating chicken rice burger. Always thought someone should make this...closest Ive tried was Mos Burger. Almost wanted to make it myself, but finally now there's Hawker QSR! Any idea what's QSR stand for?
Chicken rice burger verdict:
For a kuey png lover, it sounds much better than it tastes. Doesnt tastes bad, just thinking why do I need chicken rice burger when there is real good chicken rice. Maybe its for tourists...
Also, tourist pricing! Costs about $9, too expensive for chicken rice dish and too expensive for what's touted as fast food.
Still, worth 1 try! Good thing is its on food panda and also opens till midnight at esplanade :)

Fancy nasi lemak burger style? Then head down to the Esplanade for this interesting burger. Was sceptical that it’s good but the aroma of the piping hot lemak rice buns hit my nostrils I was half convinced it’s good. Biting into the chicken patty and sambal chilli sauce I think it’s promising. Sauce was not too spicy and just enough sweet to taste. Overall it’s a good local burger to try. There’s even chicken rice burger too. And because it’s a subsidiary of No Sign Board Restuarant there’re chilli crab bao and man tou too. Go try it cos you’ll never know if you like it.
