Really thick and sticky, with duck meat only and quite a bit of it, plus a sweet base
I'm very impressed by how the kway soup, kway chap ingredients sauce and the duck leg braised gravy are all distinct, they really put in a lot of effort and their long queues are well deserved
The only problem is that the queue moves slowly because a lot of people takeaway
It's rare to find tender braised duck, very often it's tough even if it's not particularly overcooked for some reason
However the braise was strong and unique, like that of the kway chap ingredients but not diluted. And the duck was tender
Liver was clean tasting too and the chili sauce was sharp
Lovely, come early to avoid the queue, they have a line before they open but that's already the shortest queue of less than 10mins
The kway chap soup is good, it's got quite abit of thickness from duck fats. Kway was smooth as well
Ingredients were well braised, it's simple but there's a lot of body from various spices and the profile is different from most. However the braise isn't too strong
Pretty decent
The queue is damn long, waited almost 45mins during lunch time on a Sunday. The queue go until 5 stalls away.
The braise sauce was sweet type, thick and flavourful. Duck was quite tender.
Chilli damn good.
And quite cheap also.
Perpetual long queue at this duck rice Kway chap stall at West Coast. The Kway here is smooth and the mixed offals and duck meat full of flavour from their braised sauce. A real gem in West Coast.
合记 braised duck rice. Topped up another $1 to enjoy more of the tender and juicy duck meat. Braised tofu was thinly sliced and soft. The sauce was slightly on the sweeter note and not overly thick. Would come back for this if the queue is not too long.
