The Claypot Rice is prepared the traditional way with charcoal, so be prepared to wait 30 minutes or more if you did not reserve before hand.

There is something different about the way it was served. The ingredients of chicken chunks, Chinese sausage, salted fish and salted duck egg yolk were removed before the dark sauce and oil were poured in. Auntie helped with the entire process, rather than some stalls which are DIY.

Auntie mentioned this is so that customers can choose and add ingredients, rather than to have it all mixed in.

This remains as one of my favourite claypot rice places. They take a while to cook, so you can call them to ask to cook it in advance while you’re on the way there. It’s tasty, smokey, and their other side dishes, like their delicious roast pork and boiled Chinese soups, go well with it too. My only gripe is that I feel like they’ve reduced the amount of ingredients inside each pot, but oh well, times change.

This place still remains as one of my favourite places to go for claypot rice because they have lots of other side dishes for you to choose from. I like their fried tofu sticks, fried beans (四季豆), and frog legs the best. They are also decently generous with the ingredients and it comes with two huge salted egg yolks which I love! P.s. you can call ahead and reserve a claypot so that they will cook it for you earlier.

The Claypot Rice is very flavorful and contains chinese sausage, fish slices, chicken and salted duck egg yolk. Eat it with the sambal chilli and green chilli they provide...yumz! Would prefer the chicken to be more tender tho.

They use the traditional charcoal way of preparing the claypot rice so be prepared to wait at least 30 mins during peak periods. Waiting time is worth it; claypot rice is fantastic.

you douse a hearty portion of dark soy sauce, some oil and you mix thoroughly the salted egg yolk.

WOAH! but still not as good as my fav one in lavender's army market. this one has the egg yolk though 😏
