Grilled 3-Cheese - the perfect cheesy combination of Brie/cheddar/mozzarella, with a thoughtful addition of sauerkraut and tomato jam on the side to cut through the richness. Almost stole the show from the chewy golden brown toast. Loved that this wasn’t greasy at all.

Ended the meal with the Special Toast - a delightful combination of sweet fragrant milk toast with incredibly smooth ricotta and a well-balanced sweet/ tangy strawberry-rhubarb jam.

The orange cold brew (cold brew with orange juice and soda) was refreshing, light and easy to drink even for non-coffee lovers.

Post exchange in the UK I have an affinity for scones or may be any baked English/ European goods.
So here is my attempt to try every scone I spy in Singapore part #1
Expensive but huge, the scallion cheese scone had too much pepper that weren’t introduced in its description tag. While they did spice up the taste of the otherwise banal scone, I would hardly have these again because I trust micro bakery to have other way better offerings.
With an established reputation from their serene centre branch, that I have only heard of, I am looking forward to be back to try and determine what makes this bakery such a crowd pleaser.

Ordered the following:
β–ͺ️Kaya Butter Set ($5.40)

A good place to chill, relax and chit chat but do note that there's weak data connection in the building if you are a StarHub user (like me) πŸ˜ͺ

2nd stop of #jiaklocal in my backyard. Located at the newly refurbished iconic Red House in Katong. Took over the space of the defunct very last century bakery. Decor is rustic with floor tiles of the good ole days and old school biscuits in tin boxes on display.
Kopi-o was prepared the old style, using the long snout kettle and the "sock" for brewing. Tiny cupcakes ($2 each) of flavors ie buttercream, strawberry n kaya. Because of the history of Red House, much thot has been put into this cafe to retain the 80s charm. Not exactly kopitiam looking, but it is going to be a hit with residents especially the baby boomers generation. πŸ’’
For some, this historical building might just bring many folks down memory lane. Located at East Coast Road across from Katong V.
