We tried Heng Kee’s today after having frequent the other previously.
We clearly preferred this for its curry that was more flavourful; not as watery as the other’s. Kinda liked that their curry wasn’t piping hot like the other’s so we could enjoy it properly and taste it.
But these were priced higher than the average hawker food, at $5 and $7.50, with choice of part from the chicken only for the latter. We ordered both and concluded that our only justification would be to pay more for a chicken drum meat. Nevertheless, the chicken was still tender and good, similarly for their generous servings of fried beancurd and potato thoroughly cooked in the curry.

Decided to try Heng Kee Curry Chicken on level 1 of Hong Lim FC today because it seems to be harder to catch as compared to Ah Heng on level 2.

Mummy and I survived the long snaking queue after an hour's wait. (Only to have read about the slow moving queue after that) Well i guess the step of pouring the curry gravy over the poached chicken back and forth added more flavor to the curry gravy, which in my opinion, was light, less spicy while retaining the coconut milk flavor.
For $5, the portion of Beehoon and noodles was quite little, 2 slices of long fish cake, 1 pathetic piece of yellow potato, but generous servings of tau pok and reasonable amount of tender chicken meat. Oh and, sorry I couldn't appreciate the handmade sambal chili because it just tasted like chili oil to me.

Calories conscious so I didn't finish the curry gravy but the soaked-up tau pok was too shiok to count my calories for that. *Irony*

I expect curry to be lemak but this is watery like a soup. Expect a wait of at least 30min if the queue ends before the stairs and 45 min if the queue ends at the foot of the stairs ! $5 for basic version and $7.50 if you want drumstick but I don't think it is worth the top up. I would advise you to try curry noodle in Malaysia - you will never eat this crap again.

The one bowl of calories that I've been craving for — Heng Kee's Curry Noodles ($7 for drumstick/ji wei. Otherwise, a standard bowl at $5). A whole pile of soft taupok, fish cakes and potato (I must ask for more next time!), tender poached chicken and yellow noodles in a bowl of comforting curry. Add in a little of that sambal to increase its robustness!

Open from Tues to Sat, till about 230pm/ when sold out.

We arrived at 1045am and there was a line of at least 10 people in front of us at Heng Kee. While service was slow amidst the sweltering heat, the noodles ($5) were well worth it.
The mound of beehoon and yellow noodles soaked up the super super rich spicy coconut curry and there was a mix of poached chicken and long slices of fish cake. The curry soaked taupok were mini grenades which exploded with each bite.
The broth despite its menacing appearance was not too spicy but still maintained its distinct coconut richness.

Don't forget the maroon hued sambal which the store owners make from hand. It really elevates the dish.

Was I satisfied? Yes. Did I go try the competitor immediately after. Yes.
Diet be gone.

Had to queue for 30 minutes, but the noodles were worth it! Rich curry broth with generous slices of chicken to fill you up.
