I'm the last 2 customer, so most of the items are sold out. So I ordered Abury Pork Belly Don.
The pork belly was thin, tender with Char on the outside, served with Japan rice and truffle soya as a sauce.
Taste wise is good, but the meat only 6 and very thin, so my rice still left 1/2 when my meat finished.

So there's this option to Build Your Own Bowl where you choose your base + protein(s) + 1 sauce + side(s).

I chose Sushi Rice ($1) + Unagi ($9) + Truffle Mayo + Onsen Egg ($1) + Lok-Lok Broccoli ($1.50).

So it stated sushi rice and when I bit into it I was so disappointed because it was just PLAIN short grain rice. Felt so deceived.

The unagi was quite good. Well cooked. Tender and flavorful. I really like the sauce on it as well.

Next the truffle mayo which turned out to be a disappointment. Did not have any truffle taste which I think the staff should taste for themselves on the day they serve.

For the onsen egg, it was good. Egg was flowy.

Lok-Lok broccoli was delicious as well. Tender, not too crunchy and well seasoned. My favourite in the don.

Overall the don lacked sauce and that caused the ingredients not to gel well with each other. It was like eating many seperate dishes, not in the good way. Hope they would drizzle some sauce on the plain rice instead of just the ingredients itself.

Here at Hideki, you get to build your own bowl! Get to choose the base - sushi rice/soba/salad and then the protein - chicken/pork/beef/salmon and then you can choose add ons for different prices. I added onsen egg and edamame :)

I love mix and match concepts although it does take a toll on my brain energy trying to decide from the sauces available (all of them sound good!). Eventually stuck to the usual teriyaki sauce since ahma only takes teriyaki sauce but no regrets!

While the chicken portion isnt exactly big, it was just enough to pair with the sauteed mushrooms, loklok broccoli and rice. But what really won us over was the amount of sauce at the bottom of the bowl such that when you mix everything up, every grain of rice definitely is coated with some teriyaki sauce ☺😍

At $6.50 for such a wholesome bowl, it's really pretty value for money! 😍

The sous vide chicken was delicious due to the special marinade and slight smokey edge from being aburi-ed. The soba and truffle shoyu sauce was delicious as well, though it did border on being overly sweet to me. The onsen egg was great for mixing some creaminess into the otherwise light bowl!
