Strong Wok Hei

Tender and perfectly cooked Beef slices.

Flavourful Broth.

The queue here can get rather long during lunch time, even on weekdays.

FYI: Ghim Moh Market is closed for Renovation until End May 2024

Unlike most of the hor fun you find at other places, here you can actually mix 2 items to go with your hor fun; either the meat or seafood.

I gotten the beef and sliced fish, and really enjoy the hor fun flavour. Love the broth as well.

Now I really believe this is how all hor fun should be. I've had this before but my recent experience was even better!

What makes this Beef Hor Fun ($6) stand out is the enormous amount of wok hei flavour in their noodles. The wok hei flavour adds so much flavour to the dish and it actually has a bitter aftertaste that I still appreciated. The noodles were all drenched in thick garlicky savoury sauce and it was so good I slurped them all up! The beef slices were really tender too. The portion was great and this was such a satisfying meal!

Randomly joined one of the long queues at Ghim Moh Market 😂 Everything on their menu is priced the same at $5, and they only serve 2 main dishes - hor fun and mui fan. Difference between the options are the toppings that are fish, prawn, beef or available in combinations.

All the ingredients are pre-cooked, then put together upon order. Despite the crowd, I wasn’t really a big fan of it unfortunately. Albeit the decent wok hei, our plate of hor fun was a bit clumpy and would definitely have liked it to be served more hot.

Hor fun - The gravy was viscous enough, yet not too thick, and it’s not jelak at all even when you’ve reached the end of your meal.
