Miss eating wanton mee at Hoe kee. The noodle is springy, nice and has a flavourful sauce together with the char siew. Hope the business is back soon!!
As mentioned, the mee here was good in both quality and execution, distinct from most stalls. Dumplings were underwhelming, because they're basically a larger version of their wantons, without extra ingredients.
If you judge wanton mee by the sum of its parts like me, you'd praise the char siew and noodles. The former was generously marinated and had that attractive darkness. It also had an unusual sweetness. The latter was good in both quality and execution, distinct from most such noodles.
Springy noodles paired with sweet caramelised char siew & flavourful sauce. And to make things better, it's located no more than a stone's throw away from my house!

I had been thinking about this wanton mee since I last ate it. Unfortunately this time it was more normal than I remembered. Not bad lah.
