Hmm. Every component was competent, but nothing was superb. The fish chunks, while large, were so-so. The soup was not the level to empty the bowl. Overall one bracket below Ka-Soh.

Check out the thick slice, or rather slab, of fresh fish is my fish Beehoon! It costs only $6, $7 if you takeaway but they give extra soup!

I'm definitely coming back for my fish Beehoon fix and maybe trying the sanlau horfun!

Don't ask me where is the hor fun, it's buried with beansprouts and fishes 😚

I always patronise the branch near Singapore Polytechnic and this is my first time dining at the Chinatown branch. I must say, the soup is definitely thicker at Dover and the fish is definitely tastier over the other side as well. I will stick to my usual place for XO fish soup. San Lao at Dover is also tastier compared to Chinatown.

XO fish meat soup noodles at $12 for about 2 sharing. And San Lao is at $6 for a person's serving.

A good plate of hor fun must have "wok-hei". "Wok-hei" simply means flavor of the wok imparting to the food. This is also applies to Cantonese food dishes. Generous amount of beansprouts & fish slices. Nom!

Lunch time is the best time for each working day! Slurping up smooth thick beehoon in strong XO Fish Soup. They are really generous with their fish slices. Look! So thick! 😍
