Mondays don’t always have to suck. Brighten up your Monday with good food, like this here plate of Herb Grilled Fish ($8 nett) from Holy Grill in Old Airport Hawker Centre. The food is decent, but the real reason why you’re here is for the humongous portions. Yes, this is a bigger than average plate, and the fish fillet is too big for it.⠀

The dory fish fillet is grilled expertly, sporting a decent char on both sides, and the fish flesh is flaky & moister than an oyster. However, the texture is way too soft for my liking, but it’s great if you don’t feel like chewing your food. The herb sauce definitely needs more herbs, and perhaps I should’ve ordered the cajun grilled fish for a fish dish with punchier flavours.⠀

However, Holy Grill’s extensive selection of sides are the real winner here. Their baked potato is absolutely drowning in a deluge of melted butter & bacon bits, while their light, refreshing coleslaw is the perfect follow up to hoover up all that artery clogging buttery goodness from the whole spud.⠀

While it ain’t the flavours that keep me coming back, the titanic portions & the splendid sides from Holy Grill have me saying ‘Holy Moly!’

You will definitely go holy when you see the size of the meat given. Definitely a huge portion that you would enjoy much for only $7.

It also comes with 2 side dishes that you can choose.

Simply Grilled Chicken ($7) I felt that it was bland taste for sauce, noticed that grilled chicken got a bit "char" and not that overcooked and average taste. They served a variety of side dishes such as coleslaw, baked beans, etc. You need to fill up the order form before paying for food. You need to stay the area near the stall as the buzzer cannot detect. 🥲

📍: Mountbatten
Hickory BBQ Chicken (~SGD7): Yes this is on the high-ish side for hawker food, but the portions are HUMONGOUS and very tasty. The food was nothing to scream about but to me, this is like upsized Astons for a cheaper price, and its super worth. Do give this place a try when you pop by old airport road hawker center. The uncle and auntie running the stall are really nice as well :’)

$7 for this plate of grilled chicken. Portion is huge and really well worth the money. They are also generous with the sides! Chicken is grilled to slight crispy on the outside and still tender inside.

This wasn't the most fantastic. Bit too overcooked, and the black pepper sauce was sweet...
