This rather well-known stall actually serves up one of the BEST crispy pork bellies weโ€™ve had in Singapore and lives up to the hype.

Honestly, with one singular bite, I was already sold. What sets it apart from others is that crunching sound when you bite into the crackling Sio Bak skin. The meat-fat ratio was just the way I liked it, slightly on the fattier rather than leaner side, giving it a more deliciously light feel.

Upon first glance, this plate already had me salivating over how the rice and meats were lathered with their gooey, sweet sauce and the glistening roasted pork belly skin. Iโ€™d recommend you ask for the fatter cut of their darker Char Siew, so as to get the ultimate GLUTTON experience.

Their sio bak > charsiew for me (although I seldom eat sio bak because I donโ€™t really like the fatty bits).

๐—ฆ๐—ถ๐—ผ ๐—ฏ๐—ฎ๐—ธ came with really crispy crackling and melt-in-your-mouth fats. Most were excellent while 1 piece had drier lean meat. ๐—–๐—ต๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐˜„ was nicely caramelised, charred outside (important!) with fatty and lean parts but there were a couple pieces with drier meat, otherwise it was good. Both were really flavourful on its own without needing the chilli.

Thin hk style egg noodles went really well with the meats.

Slightly high price point of $6.

But well worth the price, char Siew was well charred and tender, roast pork skin was crispy and not tough.

A brilliant combination on and all.

"I think this is the best charsiew I've eaten," he said. "The siobak is nice but normal."

Stellar wonton mee from this famous roast meat stall as usual. Surprised with the amount of char siew they gave today, for just $5 too. Nice char and smokiness with a little fat to add flavour. Noodles are springy but also a little wet from the sauce.

Not exactly cheap but hey! Itโ€™s for a variety - Char Siew, Sio Bak and Roast Duck.

My preference has always been:-
Char Siew > Roast Duck > Sio Bak

And today, 88 Hong Kong Roast Meat Specialistโ€™s Sio Bak was so freakin good?
It has a good amount of meat in each bite,
the fats just melts in your mouth,
the skin is so crispy and fragrant???
Hands down to the Best Sio Bak Iโ€™ve had.

The Roast Duck and Char Siew were okay. Iโ€™ve had better ones. I like that the Char Siew is sweet and charred. And the chilli on the side was really not bad, quite spicy and goes well with the meats.
