No frills and straightforward, this decades-old stall draws queues for their hand made fish balls.
.
With a springy bounce to texture, their fish balls are mildly savoury sweet in flavour, while the soup has strong vegetal salty sweet notes from crunchy preserved radish and fresh crisp lettuce.
.
The mee pok / wide flat egg noodles tend towards being softer in texture, but pick up the slick gravy of pork lard and chili well, savoury salty spicy in taste.

Serving comes in three sizes: $4, $5, $6. Picture shows the $4 serving, which is actually quite big considering the price. The dry mee pok was great - it was springy and came with a generous serving of chilli and vinegar. Most importantly, the noodles were not overcooked. Fishballs and meatballs were clearly handmade as well. They were large, did not have a fishy taste and came with just the right texture.

Many have come for their handmade fish balls ($4/$6/$8) and meat balls ($5/$6/$10) but you could also have them with your choice of noodle ($3.50/$4.50/$5.50).
.
I ordered a bowl of mee pok dry that come with a bowl of fish ball soup. The first thing that caught my attention was the number of balls in the soup. I counted eight large ones! Five fish balls and three meat balls.
.
I was surprised by how springily soft and smooth it is. The texture is almost tofu-liked and there is no fishy smell.
While the usual factory supplied meat balls are very compact and small in size, the handmade ones here are of a totally different league.
.
With a similar texture and size as the fish balls, the meat balls are made with a mixture of fish paste, minced meat and tee poh (sole fish) which explains the distinctive flavor.
.
The generous portion of noodle did not fare too badly either. Tossed in a concoction of pork lard oil, black vinegar, chili sauce and other seasonings, the well-oiled mee pok had the right balance of sourness, spiciness and savoriness.
.
The size and number of fish balls and meat balls are bound to keep you full even if the noodle does not.
.
This well-executed bowl of fish ball mee pok is definitely value for money. They have another stall at 115 Bukit Merah View Market & Food Centre.

PSA opening hours are 7am-1pm

Fishballs were unique, tender and with a bite. It's curd-like and the way it breaks in your mouth reminds me of beancurd haha. The flavour was impressive tho I have to admit it came w a bit of fishiness. Enjoyable nonetheless and worth the queue.

Meatballs were super soft and flavourful too, with dried fish bones? adding to the aroma

Soup was v sweet and it's not bad save for the pepper

Soft yet firm, the hand-made fish balls and meat balls are really good! The broth is kept light and simple, saving the spotlight for the fish and meat balls. Will return for this.

Have been meaning to try this stall since I passed by its long queue a little while back. Both their fishballs and meatballs are handmade, and you can clearly taste that! They were fresh, soft and seasoned nicely. We got the soup only cause we already had lunch before this, but the noodles seemed even more value for money - $3.50 and you get 6 mixed balls with it. Will be back to get that!
