This Magic Mushroom 2.0 will suit the occasion - double poached eggs, rocket leaves on toasted bread. However, the improved version still don't seemed to fulfil the destiny of its name as the balsamic vinaigrette prevents it sadly from happening.

Unfortunately, the crab cakes were 80% more potato than crab (I think I was expecting more when this cost me $15) The only saving grace was sambal-ish chili with small amount of crab meat inside. If you know me well, this definitely is not filling at all. Sorry to say, it was a waste of $15 ๐Ÿ˜•

Crab Cakes with a chili crab dip, coming with a side salad and a single poached egg. Crab cakes were a tad disappointing; largely filled up with potato instead, though the chili crab dip was undeniably spicy with savoury flavour (didn't come with much crab either). Somehow the portion size does seem a little small, and even though the poached egg was done decently, it looked a tad sad and lonely where it was and a little out of place.

Portobello sitting atop bread, with two poached eggs and side salad of rocket and balsamic. Grilled portobello was plump and juicy, came with an earthy flavour while the bread was crusty yet light inside. Poached eggs were flowy when cut upon. Thought the balsamic was a little too strong here though, cutting through the flavours of most ingredients.

Time for some indulgenceโ€ฆ

In need of Friday me-time preferably holding a cup of chocolate hazelnut ice cream milkshake dressed with red velvet tim tam, kit kat biscuits, marshmallows and pocky sticks.

At the recent food tasting session, this was the dish that generated the most excitement and buzz around the table when it appeared. Our positive first impression was further reinforced when everyone after digging in, started singing praises about the taste. Served piping-hot, the thin, soft and light pancake was wonderfully eggy. Pairing it with rich mascarpone cheese, juicy blueberries and maple syrup obviously worked because that drew glowing responses all around. Inspired by such deliciousness, we started throwing ideas at the co-owner and manager of Hoopla on other toppings they could explore.
The Dutch Royale, which I suspect will be a real crowd-pleaser, should be appearing in the new menu in about one to two weeks' time. I, for one, can't wait! ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹
