From the Burpple community

It’s.. interesting. Good interesting, I think. The sauce reminded me of that used in satay. The chicken was placed atop a yam ring which tasted pretty similar to those you get at Chinese restaurants. The result was a nice mix of flavours.

I’ve visited the Gillman Barracks branch prior to this, and wasn’t disappointed each time I visited Hopscotch! Albeit expensive, the cocktails are very well concocted - even the bespoke one (pictured) was very pleasing and suited our palette!

In terms of food, so many of the mains interest me! We have visited several times with friends so we got to try alot of the food already! Some favourites are the Guinness Beef Bourguignon, Baba Prochetta, Wagyu Burger, and (a recent addition to the menu) the truffle pumpkin cream chicken!

2 areas of improvement is that the time from ordering to getting both food and drinks can be quite long, and the soups can be improved on.

We had the Mid Autumn Delight and Curtain Call (a Capitol special) and they were both very pleasant and tasty to drink! Managed to catch the happy hour (5-8pm) where cocktails were priced at $17 each. Slightly pricier than other happy hours, but we’ve got to give it up for the creative presentation and potent-ness of the drinks. The staff even explained to us the origin of each drink which was interesting!

Loved the service, very proactive in nature and with the burpple 1-for-1 for mains, the overall meal was worth it! Will definitely be back again :)

Cocktails are definitely interesting and that's the selling point of this establishment.

However, that's about it when it comes to anything decent about this place. The cocktails are EXTREMELY overpriced even during happy hour. And they're very watered down too, doubt you'll even feel tipsy if you knock back 3 of these.

Food portions are miniscule and is simply not worth the prices even with Burpple's 1-for-1.

Perhaps just come here once just to snap some pics/vids for your IG (though I wouldn't recommend it 'cos you're helping them to promote their business i.e. Ripping off more unsuspecting customers).

I will definitely NEVER visit again unless prices and portions change.

We were blown away by how great everything here was! We ordered the Homecoming and a negroni, both of which had wonderfully flavoured layers. The mixologist was super nice too. We also had the chilli crab linguine and the baba porchetta. The porchetta was a little dry, but the linguine was superb. We’ll definitely be back for more drinks and food with friends! Come for the cocktail happy hour every day before 8pm!

⭐️ Truffle Furikake Pasta - v.flavorful and tasty, best dish that we ordered! Sadly I cant really eat ebi if not I would have ordered this!
⭐️ Truffle Fries - generous portion, pretty good
Other Items Ordered:
- Mushroom Risotto
- Bak Chor Foie Grass Pasta (will pass cause i realize I’m not really a fan of foie grass, pasta was average.)
- Lobster Chilli Crab Pasta (pasta was quite tasty)
⭐️ Drinks were special as usual, tried the different cocktails! Happy hour from 5pm - 8pm ✌🏻
