From the Burpple community

The soup is robust, and easy to drink, not too gamey, comes with tendons, beef balls, tripe, and meat, which is tender.
πŸ“Cheng Kee Beef Kway Teow.
Hougang 203 Coffeeshop.

Dry version was already sold out when we visited at 2+pm on a Friday

I like the soup, not so much the chilli, beef balls and beef slices (too thick and chewy, not tender).
Prefer kuay teow to thick beehoon.

Dry Thick bee hoon.

Ordered th bigger bowl, mixed beef w tendon ($7) but i think th portion is very little even though it still tasted as awesome! Will rate higher if th portion was more generous πŸ‘πŸ» 3.5/5 πŸ“Kovan mrt #yybffkovan #yybffhougang

Was looking for a place around my area for lunch and thanks to Burpple, I discovered a great beef noodle stall. Generous portions of beef and tendons were given, and the soup provided was so flavourful from being enriched with the beef. I personally prefer the dry version as the thick gravy coats the noodles really nicely. However, if you prefer the soup version, don't fret because their soup is equally tasty and super flavourful. I wish their chilli packed a bit more of a punch, as the herbal flavours of the beef and gravy seemed to overpower it. The fermented shrimp added a nice tanginess to it though.

[Cheng Kee Beef Kway Teow] As the haze has slightly cleared up, it's time to head out and have some good food! For an inexpensive yet fulfilling meal, just go to any of our hawker centres or kopitiams and you will be rewarded with many good eats.

One place that my colleagues will usually go if we are out for lunch at the Kovan area would be Cheng Kee Beef Kway Teow. Call it habit but I will always end up ordering the $5 mixed beef kway teow soup even though there are other stalls in the kopitiam. The portion comes with beef slices, tripe and tendons. In addition, salted vegetables, coriander and peanuts were added. Condiments such as onions with chinchalok (fermented shrimps) and chilli are available to add more oomph to the beefy goodness. This is definitely comfort in a bowl.
