Small portion of crunchy & fresh raw octopus; tossed with wasabi and popping fish roe; slightly salty but appetizing..

Most instagrammable don; super thick sashimi cubes that are fresh & firm; the tako texture unexpectedly crunchy & easy to chew; super generous with the raw goodies at the top that I can hardly find the rice to eat; came with edible flowers that add colors to the dish..

Sashimi slices are super thick, firm & fresh; prawn is crunchy & with natural sweetness; the aburi salmon belly is soft, with light smoky taste; unagi taste not too sweet or salty, quite good; with crispy salmon skin that is fried in-house so not salty, taste very natural; the rice is very fragrant & flavorful, well-cooked, not mushy; love the addition of fish roe that add crunch while chewing..

Gonna be brutally honest here –
This trip was a major disappointment, mainly because of the service (or lack thereof). Upon walking into the store, there was little attention given and we stood there waiting to be acknowledged. The store wasn’t super packed, but it was mostly the disorganisation and lack of attentiveness from the staff that stuck out.

In terms of food, there isn’t much to complain about but I do wish they had informed about the change in tamago in the dons; they are no longer serving tamago in the dons, instead they have replaced it with “more appealing edible decorations”. We had the Bara Chirashi ($18.80) and Chirashi Don ($23.80), and there’s quite a wild variety of other bowls on the menu. This definitely wins points for being aesthetic, and the combination of rice + loads of sashimi is super easy to devour🤤

While the food quality isn’t too bad, the overall service and vibes of the restaurant leaves much to be desired. Maybe I just went on a bad day, idk😕

If you are in need of some good chirashi don, try visiting the ‘House of Chirashi’. The dons served here are generously loaded with fresh seafood. Underneath the generous amount of seafood, you’ll find nicely cooked Japanese brown rice. Which is a surprise as Japanese brown rice is not often used in their cuisine. All these are prettily presented to customers. If you need more rice, just ask the waitresses. Extra rice are not charged.
The ambience of the restaurant is not bad. The only downside is the service. They are quite understaffed, hence, you may need to wait a little to be served.
Otherwise, this is a great place to come for some chirashi fix!

Finally got to try this place! Reservations is highly recommended! I booked early dec but was only able to get a slot on new year’s day.

Unfortunately for me, going on new year’s day also meant that Japan is on holiday and there was no fresh shipment of fish arriving. Most fishes were out including the uni. I was looking forward to the variety.

They replaced it with more of the other fish and I requested for more of swordfish sashimi.

Overall thick slices and value for money. They are also very generous with their sashimi slices. I would say it is very value for money at 20+$. Depending on the occasion, for a normal sashimi craving where you value quantity this would be perfect.
