Delicious fish noodles with generous portions of fried & non-fried fish. Fish is fresh and tender as well.

Delicious tandoori roti! Made fresh. Had a crispy exterior and chewy dough. Tandoori chicken was well marinated but dry. Daal is chargeable though....... ...............

The silver lining in the cloud of Marine Parade Central Food Centre undergoing renovations is stumbling upon this really tasty Mee Rebus.
Unlike the muffled starchy murkiness of many gravies I鈥檝e had elsewhere, this was bright and sparky. Because I had also requested for extra sliced green chilli, there was a fresh spicy edge with every forkful of yellow mee I slurped up.
Look out for this stall manned by a couple of Chinese middle-aged ladies. They share the same space as the drinks stall in this large coffeeshop.

Another old school gem that I ahve been eating since primary school

Portion:
It's actually quite a lot as they have about 5 pieces of fried fish and 5 pieces of non fried the soup were overflowing with vegetables

Taste:
soup had a natural taste adding the chilli mix yellow beans made the soup even nicer there was no fishy taste as the fish were really fresh The fried fish wasn't overly soaked in batter but thinly fried I could actually taste the fish and not the batter compared to other stalls

Damage :$4

Will I recommend it to others :YES
.
Will I come again :Definitely

Very old school wanton mee in a very old eating house. Most of the patrons here are elderlies of the pioneer generation. On Sunday mornings, a mix of young and old from nearby churches thronged this place for brunch. It is crowded and noisy, sounds of a lively neighborhood.

There are only about 6 stalls here. Food is not super fantastic but good enough to satisfy the hunger pangs. It is a cozy enough place for the residents to chill and meet likeminded people for old fashioned tea and coffee. I must say, the coffee is the kau kau (bitter) type, quite robust and roasty.

One of those places and spaces where time just go so slow. And I believe everyone needs that one place and space to slow the pace. Old school meets new school and gen-y meets the pioneers and baby boomers.

This wanton mee stall located in an old kopitiam, has been here for more than 10 years. Originally from the now defunct Somerset House, the owners managed to retain and maintain the original style and flavors. Springy noodles with atad thick sliced sweet charsiew. A kind of a sambal-ish chilli which might just leave a slightly more than a tingling sensation on the palate.

I would not say it is very old school. My lunch partner described it in one word. "Timeless". I have not heard anyone used this word to describe any kind of food for a long time. Have you?
