Ingredients were fresh and the place was nice to dine in + there was a good playlist of mando pop playing the whole time 😛 They had a whole fridge of meat, seafood and assorted meat/seafood balls on top of the usual vegetables selection. The bowl was very fragrant and garlicky, though I’d like it to be slightly more thoroughly fried. Heat was great and it was just right in saltiness. It’s not as numbing, but you probably can request for more when ordering. Other than mlxg, they also have a few soup options - tomato, chicken, etc. Was a bit pricey, but will be back to try the ma la soup!

Psst, we came by on V Day Eve so the Beyond deals were locked, but they actually have deals for both their lunch steamboat buffet and ma la xiang guo. That’d be very worth!

Round up your favourite spiceheads at this joint in Serangoon Gardens. Burppler serene goh advises to take it easy with the spice levels that range from Mild, Medium and Extra. There is a wide selection of vegetables and mushrooms ($1.80/100g), meats ($2.50/100g) and seafood ($3/100g) to choose from. Add on instant noodles (from $1) for an extra satisfying meal!

Price was very reasonable and the ingredient selection was good. We had a choice of mala siang guo bowl or a soup-based bowl. Both were very nice. Service was very helpful and friendly.

Yummy Mala Xiang Guo! Mild Spiciness Level is pretty 嘛 already, but it’s shiok!

麻辣 fans rejoice! 🎉 You now have the option of having ChongQing Hot Pot or Mala Xiang Guo (or both) at @huolalaspicypot! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I went for their Mala Xiang Guo & it comes in dried or soup version, which I chose the former. 💕 Spice level ranges from Mild, Medium & Extra. We got in between 小 & 中辣 (they readily acceded to our request 💯) & it was awesome! ✔

A plethora of vegetables 🥬 ($1.80/100g), mushrooms 🍄 meats 🥩 & frozen sides ($2.50/100g), seafood 🦐🦑 ($3/100g) await you!
.
My choices were beancurd skin, frozen beancurd, king oyster mushrooms 🍄, enoki mushroom, black fungus, taiwan sausage, kelp, kangkong, brinjal 🍆, pork belly 🥓, pig intestines, pig skin, taupok, fried tofu strip (taukee) & their QQ instant noodles 🍜.
.
So much food for 3 pax only totalled up to $23.30! Pretty worth it in my opinion! 👍🏻 The spice level is not to be belittled 🌶 so do get ready some water!

Come by for a satisfying & shiok Mala experience! 😉

Choose from 6 different soup bases (laksa, collagen, mala, herbal chicken, tomato & spicy fragrant); my personal favourite is the spicy fragrant. Pair your soup with a variety of more than 50 side dishes such as beef & mutton slices, beef tripe, fish maw and bamboo clams etc. Free-flow selected drinks and ice-cream are included too!

For mala xiang guo, i would recommend going for their 大辣 if you’re a spicy food lover.
