Mee kia served with ketchup-based, minced meat, mushroom and round cracker.
I feel the standard drop, is not as tasty as before and the noodle overcooked.
💰$4.

Ang Mo Kio central food centre, block 724 #01-39.

It’s not the regular bcm that taste strong of vinegar, this bcm more to ketchup based, which is not my preference.
Springy noodle served with minced meat, mushroom and three fried skin dumpling.
💰$3.5 (large).
📍Hup Hup Minced Meat Noodle.
Block 724 Ang Mo Kio Food Centre, #01-39.

Came for this renowned Bak Chor Mee and queued 20 minutes for it. The noodles were springy and well worth both the price and the wait! We ordered the large portion and this came with three crispy fried Wanton skins. The sauce had no vinegar but a rich underlying taste of ketchup instead.

Sometime, feel it is a waste for food stalls when customers ending up commenting more on the service, rather than the food itself.

Such is the case of Hup Hup Minced Meat Noodle located at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 6 Food Centre.

So... If you are expecting the usual Bak Chor Mee with vinegar and all that, this is not quite the norm.

There was that strong ketchup taste beneath, which reminded me of noodles I had when I was still schooling. For purists who love your vinegar, then you are likely to frown upon this.

The round crackers which added some crisp (somewhat like wanton skin) were the highlight.

About almost two decades ago, this stall was the stall I would wait an hour for. I've finally revisited after so many years, but my taste might have changed.

But what's still good is the golden prawn crackers which was fragrant and crispy. The texture of the noodles was also springy, but can feel starchy. It also has an old school taste to it, due to the generous use of tomato. Although it isn't as nice as I remember it to be, I don't mind another bowl next time :)

I like the Mee Kia here, and uniquely it came with 2 Fried Wanton skin biscuits. 👍
