ACAMASTIPS & GTK💮: Helming this place is an old but gold team of elderly duo. You find yourself surrounded by an environment untouched by time, loyal patrons gracing the place & my Favourite grandma making Kopi. I adore this place, that reconnects me back to the 70s & 80s where I truly belong. 🖖🏻
Hup Lee (合利) Coffeeshop, as old school & nostalgic as it gets. Still using charcoal for Toast, the Traditional Sock for Coffee, run by a team of friendly elders. ☕️

ACAMAS-EATS & THOUGHTS💮: It's places like this that keep the tradition alive, tradition of how things should be done, old school, vintage & with heart. 🏵

Truth is, it's a disappearing sight, inching towards extinction which is a fear I have & trying to prevent. Coffee still making it the old school way, Toasts on charcoal, in the mist of conversations reminiscent of the 70s or 80s. 🔖
A local fixture along Jalan Besar yet easily missed due to its dim interior; it is as if time stood still in the old school coffeeshop.Stepping beyond 合利 Hup Lee’s iron gates, you can expect to be greeted by the aroma of coffee and whiff of toast prepared over the charcoal grill.
And with the short getaway from the hustle and bustle, calm yourself with a cup of coffee (but in my case, milo), simple butter-sugar or kaya toast and take a closer look around - noting the greying walls, old ceiling fans, fashioned marble top tables and even an outmoded orange payphone on the counter. Hence, immensely charmed by the space, I really enjoyed my thick malty beverage and quintessential Singaporean breakfast that we shared.
Furthermore, with the endorsement of the many regulars lounging for hours at time sipping on their kopi, it just makes the place a perfect spot to seek shelter from the rain or sun when you are in the area.
If you don’t look closely enough from the outside, you wouldn’t even realize that Hup Lee's a coffeeshop. Stepped into this dimly lit space and immediately felt like we were being transported back in time, the sight and sounds, being surrounded by the regulars sipping on traditional drinks and charcoal grilled toasts. Absolutely loved the whole atmosphere even though we were clearly out of place among the rest. Can't get better than this, what a gem! 😌☕️
