Wanted to try the waffle but unavailable soo got the goma cake (8.80) good sesame taste, earthy and not too sweet. Not something I’ll crave for tho as I like sweeter desserts. Also got the chaffagato ($7.80) with hokkaido milk ice cream & matcha shot. Like the ice cream, the matcha is good albeit too bitter for me. Eating them together was not bad. Sadly, this place is not my cup of tea and won’t be back
price: $17.60 (extra scoop of gelato was $5.80)
we got the matcha cookies & cream (right) and hokkaido milk (left) flavour🍵🍦 their gelato was really milky and smooth 😋 thought their matcha cookies and cream was gon be pure matcha gelato with oreos but instead it was a milk/vanilla based ice cream with matcha cookies crumbs. definitely not the full matcha experience but still really yummy especially if you are not going for so much of the ‘cha’ taste☺️ their waffles are dairy-free and thus was slightly different from the usual waffles! i felt that it was on the crunchier side and more ‘hollow’ which really complemented the creaminess of the gelato!😌
rate: 8.5/10 ✨
One of my go-to matcha places and is generally a well-accepted matcha-specialty place. I had matcha hojicha latte, no ice and less hojicha syrup (ended up paying $6.8). The staff once told me that their matcha latte is done less sweet by default, and I also ordered less hojicha syrup as I am not quite a hojicha fan. The latter might balance the sweetness since it is syrup. For me, the final concoction's sweetness is just nice.
I really wanted to try Matcha Houjicha Latte ($6.80) (Oat Milk -$1) after a lot of people posted. It's a hybrid between Matcha and Houjicha Latte 🥰 and didn't expected that their combination really good. Matcha (Bitter) and Houjicha (Roasted) was quite interesting and unique drink that I have tried b4. You can opt out less Houjicha Syrup (no cost).
Overall Experience for Conclusion: I really like and enjoy their vibes for sitting at Tatami Carpet itself. If without 1 hour dining restriction, I would want to stay for relaxation. I like their cafe vibes for enjoying tea 🍵
Hokkaido Milk ($5.80) was not milky and creamy taste for me as she asked me to try out for tasting. But their standard for ice cream got that level and didn't disappointed me at all.
I really want to try Matcha °8 for ice cream but they didn't have it right now for menu 🙃 I just choose Matcha °3 (vegan) ($7.80) for ice cream instead. Their other options such as °1, °2 and Matcha & Cookies. I did expected that their ice cream was quite good but its just strong taste for bitterness. Just like bittergourd didn't really affected other food's taste. Its not really milky and creamy for my tastebubs but they really cater much for vegans and dairy intolerant people.
