Friday and it is IKEA time for us ‘the IKEA hoarder’😜 A good day for us to browse what is in store for their special furniture sale between 26 Dec-1Jan. This food combo shown here suppose to be available only on 26th and we thought they no longer have today. What a treat to have turkey in the set as we didn’t have them this Christmas yet!🤤
It is a value deal for those who always go for salmon fillet which costs $10. Add $9 more and you get a hugh turkey drums. (Regular price for this combo set is $26.30) For us, the highlight in the set turns out to be the mushroom soup which is self service after getting your order. 🍄
Quite a pity that we miss the CNY deco that will be up later as they clear Christmas theme in Activity Hall today. If you notice anything cool, buzz us on IG. Cheers!! 🙌😁🙏

About $16, limited time only item, quite affordable given they give an entire lamb shank. The meat was fall off the bone tender, sauce complimented the meat well as well. The sides were decent, didn't increase or decrease my impression of the dish as a whole. Despite it being from a buffet line (IKEA) style it was plated pretty nicely and was aesthetically pleasing too

^^^ Like wow... So flavourful! It’s totally from a box but it has a ton of MSG, giving it loads of umami flavour. The peas were crisp and juicy, and the cranberry sauce really balanced out the savoury tastes. Though it was a touch too sour for my taste, I thought the plate of meatballs were very well balanced with the crisp peas, juicy meatballs and creamy mash. The meatballs especially were like little nuggets of juicy, slightly sweet meat! The mushroom soup was quite delicious. It was creamy and the mushroom taste was pleasant and not overwhelming. There were also plenty of little chunks of mushroom that was very yummy.

The rest, however, was a little underwhelming, especially for their price tag. The garlic bread was subpar; it was soft and not very crisp, with little flavour. The fried chicken was also underwhelming, not a lot of flavour and slightly overcooked.

The blueberry cheesecake had a delicious crust. It was not as creamy as I’d have liked and the blueberries tasted slightly artificial.

Overall: 6.5/10 🍽🇸🇪

As Festive season is approaching, we can’t help but hope to see more new dishes here. We didn’t see any new dish this time round except the salted egg chicken wings. The ikea restaurant is the highlight every time we visit IKEA (so more new!! inspiring dishes please!!! )

So @ikeasingapore has decided to take their original fried chicken wings to another level by creating a salted egg flavour. Though we had them taken away, I was still bought over by the scrumptiousness. If you are dining in, probably even more impressive.

Embellished by a luscious coating of creamy salted egg sauce, some might feel that its richness overshadowed the original marinate of the wings, but I wouldn’t mind for the indulgence. Watch the staff toss those wings in a bowl of potentially addictive yellow goodness, sprinkled with curry leaves and sliced chili padi. Not overly creamy or custardy, it actually makes a legit picnic snack.
