The lamb skewers were tender, spicy, fatty to just the right degree, and generally a delight. The gyoza were oily, very oily, but the skin maintained its luxuriously crispy bite on the "pot-sticker side". Lovely stuff. Then came the hot pot. It's not the greatest broth in the world by any means but it's soothing. It leaves you feeling content and satisfied. And all the sauces work really well with everything - everything just works here! Add some of the green mulch directly into your soup and it'll take on a stronger umami body with a richer aftertaste. Dip the tendons and tripe in the sesame paste then drag them through the chili oil and flakes. Douse everything liberally with that great vinegary-chili thing. It's a mess, but it's a beautiful mess, and we're not talking about the largely mediocre burgers at BurgerLab. .

Oh yeah, and those lamb slices in the first photo? They're great. Dip in and out and enjoy the thin delectable lamb without the usual gaminess that put some people off. We also got some hand made DIY meat ball thing that we failed horribly at. Tasted delicious though! As do most things here. Give it a try. But go in a group because we had way too much food for two people and barely made it out alive. Luckily we live to eat another day and crawl through another year of soul-crushing hair-receding mind-numbing workdays. Here we go, 2018!
