...... but given that this is at Resorts World Sentosa, I think that these two dishes -- the Hotstone Bibimbap with Pork (S$14.00) and the Seoul Fried Chicken (S$13.00 for 12 pieces) -- are not the most desirable dishes to get.
The Bibimbap to me is just a bowl of rice that does not come across as having much of other ingredients, making it lack the crunch from the vegetables. The Fried Chicken reminded me of some Chicken Karaage with minimal marination. Both did not seem to hit the right spot for me.
Methinks there are other restaurants in the vicinity that is better worth the money spent.
Pretty predictable but still satiating; there is no fault to the dish given its well covered in cheese and came in generous portions of ham. Cheese was melted and stringy when pulled apart, and the rice was creamy and seemed to carry a hint of cream of corn flavour. Nothing particularly special, but quite faultless by its own.
Think Oyako Don on a hotplate; the egg sauce was actually very flavourful and even better than most food court stalls around. The egg mixture is also filled with caramalised onions and button mushrooms as well. Admittedly they could have used a better cut for the pork; the veiny and slightly tough meat was something that can be improved on. A tad pricey, but comes with rice and banchan at the side.
J Cone for its heaty weather !
Biscuit was crunchy but ice cream was very fast melted
Corn cone with vanilla ice cream! The corn biscuit is almost like the corn snack that we use to eat when we were young, just without the savoury powder on the exterior. It's really quite a delightful combi w the ice cream!
You get to choose the gelato and sauce to drizzle over the ice, and pictured is the green tea gelato with kuromitsu sauce. Essentially an idealistic Korean bingsu challenging itself not to be pigeonholed as “exotic”, “novelty” or “foreign talent”, and trying its darnest to adapt itself to local tastes and its new home in a food court setting, but ultimately ending up being nothing like its former self and instead, just being a really satisfying ice kachang. 3.6/5
