Steamed Horfun with prawns, shredded chicken and mushrooms. The horfun is steamed so understandably there's no wok hei to look forward to, but it's mixed with a savoury dark sauce that's fairly flavourful. Prawns were fresh and peeled (that's a nice touch) and the shredded chicken was not too bad.

It's a decent bowl, but I would rather stick with the signature hor fun in future.

Bought this as a side dish to pair with their signature hor fun.

Not sure if it was because I ordered this as a takeaway but it wasn't as tasty as I thought it would be; it's average decent.

That said the portions were fairly generous; this was about $4 and you get about two layers of 肉饼.

Steamed horfun that's doused with a savoury sauce and topped with mince meat, char siew and fried meatballs. Unlike the horfun at hawker centres, the horfun is steamed so there's no wok hei. However , this is still a flavourful bowl of noodles, and the MVP would be the fried meatballs which are really tasty. The char sure was a little on the drier side though, and there's little to no cameralisation.

Do note that the prices on their menu do not reflect GST. Total was $7.35 and they do accept credit cards; great for those who don't have the habit of using cash.

Claypot rice

A dish is not considered claypot rice if it was merely cooked in a claypot. To be eligible to be called claypot rice, the rice must have the smokiness and wok hei. Unfortunately, the claypot in this claypot rice was just in name only. Tasted more like rice with dark sauce and chicken.

Char kway teow with prawns.

Good amount of seafood. Taste is decent, but nothing special. Do yourself a favour and order a dry hor fun from the nearby zhi char shop. Will probably be better value.

The staff are probably overworked. My sympathy does go to them. They have no time to wipe the tables. The neighbouring table had to ask for it several times. They do not serve their foods in bowls nor do they use their usual spoons and chopsticks more. We were given the disposable bowls and cutlery. I kid you not, I did not order takeaway even though you see my photo in a paper bowl, I was indeed eating in the shop. Now on to the food. Taste wise the curry gravy is pretty thick and good and goes well with the hor fun and chicken. The servings for the chicken is pretty small. I am a small eater but I suspect the men and someone who is hungry will definitely need to go for dessert later. If I can help it, I will think thrice before eating here again.
