Since we’re still in takeaway mode, I finally took this chance to bag myself some hot (mala) pot from iPot. Prices are surprisingly affordable there, with most veg going for a dollar apiece or for a hundred grams, and meats going for about $2.30 per hundred grams. The most expensive items are definitely the seafood, which costs three bucks per hundred grams. Still reasonable enough really.⠀

Their 小辣 is shockingly vicious, and is enough to get most people hot and bothered, while their expertly stir fried meats & veg will fill the void in your belly. Pretty good pot all around, would definitely blaze it again.

The mala xiang guo here ($24 for an abundant amount for 3 people) is really fragrant, and what's better is that the numbness is customizable as well! For the price, it's really worth it as we ordered quite abit of meat!

Be careful, because this shop's mala spice is heavier than the most places! The small spice here is equivalent to the medium spice in most places.

Ever wanted something spicy and hot to warm your soul during rainy days?

Located in Century Square Tampines, I was craving for a nice hot dish of mala hotpot during this CB period but decided to settle for this bowl for the convenience of being able to take this away and eat at home. You can choose the level you want for 麻 and 辣. So if you want the taste of spice without the numbing feeling, you can definitely customize it to your own liking.

I think taste wise this is better than most places in Tampines but towards the pricier side. Also, they don’t have extensive ingredients that you can choose from which I feel can be improved.

A small shop selling MXG with a takeaway concept. They have 4 levels of 麻辣 and it is all customisable with the level of numb 麻 and spicy 辣.

Previously I tried the dry and stir-fried version with 小辣 and 微麻 and this time I decided to go without 麻 and order 微辣 only since my stomach wasn’t feeling very well yet I was craving for some MXG. It was fragrant and tasty. The spice was there but somehow felt that I should have ordered something spicier. Maybe I should have another try with 小辣 only and skip the 麻. Not sure if it is weird to have MXG without peppercorns 🤔 》$13.80
