From the takeaway kiosk at the small stalls located at isetan scotts supermarket , this Saba set tastes as good as it looks.

I love the variety of items which adds such a touch of colour and variance to the tastes and textures of the meal . What attracted me were actually the hijiki and the burdock salad 🤩.

Having said that , the Saba was juicy and well grilled and not overly seasoned while the ginger soy chicken was tender and tasty .
Since this is run by a Japanese , high grade Japanese rice is used and this is a plus plus plus 😊 .

All in all , a very pleasant meal and at 7.80 , very very affordable too .

Ongoing Summer fair @isetansg Scotts till 11 July! ✨The sweet potato pie comes in an option of original yellow or purple, which I opted for the latter. The pastry crust is flaky with a caramelised golden brown exterior, with a substantial interior of creamy, thick purple sweet potato filling that withheld a pleasant, subtle tinge of natural sweetness. On the other hand, the cheesecakes paled in comparison, with the crumble base lacking a characteristic buttery fragrance and felt as though it had been stored for quite some time. In short, it didn’t feel fresh and the texture was thick,dense and creamy which might not suited for the faint-hearted. The purple potato flavour came with tiny chunks of purple potato embedded within, while the cheesecake itself was infused with a purple potato flavour. Despite the vibrant lavender-alike purplish hues that provided an aesthetically appealing outlook, the flavour was subtle and barely detectable, masked by the tangy, piquant note of cream cheese. While the earl grey cheesecake did carry off distinct subtle notes of tea flavour on the first few bites, it was unfortunate (and perhaps inevitable) that it faded off almost instantly, overwhelmed by the stronger cheese element. //
On a side note, the lacklustre service here added even more salt to my ‘wound’, with unfriendly stares from the staff if you were to sample and not purchase anything here. Also, when I requested for a box and ice gel pack for my purchase, the staff reluctantly gave in and seemed displeased with her impolite tone and unfriendly gestures .

Coming to Isetan to grab one of these bento boxes has been one of my cheap thrills, quite literally. They are extremely affordable and for under $10 you could get a box of chirashi Don

After trying so many types of warabi mochi from the various fairs, this brand has the softest and best texture in my opinion. Comes in 4 flavors, kinako (soy bean powder), sesame (kinako with sesame), cocoa and matcha! Buy 3 for $27.50. Or twin packaging at $17.20. Try it before the fair ends!

This is located at a mini japanese fair right outside Isetan Scotts. I was there on 2 Feb 2019 for info!

This strawberry ice is not sliced strawberries on shaved ice. It's frozen strawberries, sliced, all laid in the cup and has condensed mill drizzled in between the layers! Topped with a dollop of whipped cream ☁️ It's sooooo refreshing! At $8, i would say that this is definitely worth your buck!

Go try it if it's still there (;
